Power just came back on!!!!

I had just texted my boss and told him I would keep him posted, but that we may not be able to open tomorrow (especially if I froze to death). Not 5 minutes later, the power came on. I sent him a message saying "All it took was a text to you to get the power going again" and his response was "No charge ;-)" - Gotta love a boss with a good sense of humor!

So, to get everyone's mind out of the gutter, here's the picture Gary was referring to when he mentioned nicely trimmed bushes.... I call it "Cupcake shrubs"

Nothing overhangs the car. The tree in the foreground is a dwarf maple, the ones in the background are out of range. Believe me, if I thought for a moment...I'd be out there so fast with my chainsaw converting them to firewood!

Thanks! She thinks she feels better than she really does, so she's always ready to go out. Just getting to be a lot of work on my body to lift her wheelchair and keep her safe. :( I know she likes to get out, so I'll just keep on doing it while I can.

This is why snow in western WA is bad. This road is State Route 7. Yup, a 5-lane state highway, and it has had ZERO snow removal... Now the snow is mixed with rain, so the slush will be ice tomorrow morning when I have to go to work....

On the flip side, my back yard is absolutely gorgeous!

Yikes, that's quite a storm in the NW. Not so bad here in Georgia! Have fun Jan. I have some friends up in the Smokies and have been visiting quite often. I think I'm in love. Took some pictures with my iPhone last weekend up around the Nantahala.

Y'all be safe............and I can't wait until Friday. I got my new "tall boots" last night, just in time for dinner with Mom and the family tonight. They don't match my car exactly, but I like them anyway. Oh, and I don't have a doting husband to take a picture of me, so it's just my iPhone photography, and not a very good job

HOLY CRAP! This is the worst weather I've ever seen! I had just sent a message to my staff saying the roads are too bad to go to work - snow, I can deal with, ice, not so much - and my power went out again! The emergency broadcast system was activated, warning about the ice storm. Seatac airport is closed. The backyard looks like shiny white plastic - freezing rain is making puddles on top of the snow. I can hear tree branches cracking all over the place, and see flashes of light from transformers blowing!
I think the Mayans might have been right... LOL!
