Don't get me wrong, he is a strong guy no doubt.....that being said he is also between 260-290lbs and "chemically enhanced". He should be fairly strong. That being said, the one thing that did impress me was the 1 handed deadlift.

I hear ya, to do that kinda stuff ya gotta be on the juice. Man can't get that powerful naturally. I heard from a pro NFL player that almost ALL are on some sort of performance enhancement substance. All of it is banned, but nobody checks, or "it's taken care of" on the books. |

This..- in today's sports world it has become almost a necessity. If athletes want to be competitive, unless they are genetic freaks, most use at least some form of "performance enhancing supplements" some legal and others illegal. It is even prevalent at the college level too believe it or not. While I do have some level of respect for anyone who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals (Even damage their health and risk legal consequences) It is pretty disheartening, especially when you do have those few natural guys still having to compete against those using banned substances. Happens in more sports than just bodybuilding and powerlifting – conventional like football and others.

Think I've stated before.... I'm actually PRO steroid if it is how you make your living and you fully understand and accept the possible consequences that can be associated with taking them. But they just aren't for me personally.

High school kid I talked to said its just as easy to steroids at school as it is weed. Dangerous, you bet, but they look up to the pros and like you said, it's in virtually every sport. Plus you got old timers like Arnold and Stallone whom have been on the juice for decades and decades. Some of the old school Bodybuilders have been on the stuff going on 50 years now - yikes .

Yes! I knew guys in my highschool starting on cycles as Freshmen and Sophomores. Kids can't even drive yet, or understand the full future consequences of it. Besides - at that age you don't need it. 5 years natural and still seeing results, and competed at division 1 sports, still don't need it. You are right, I even look up to Arnold - more so because he was a pioneer and like I said - any guys who is willing to put more than 100% into it and literally risk his health for his dreams - I do have some respect for.

hey everyone, trying to figure out why im feeling so exhausted and if i need a deload....
I took the entire week off before my first competition on november 15th, and was tapering everything before then. I did get in the gym monday of the meet and did warmups of s/b/d then on tuesday light bodybuilder accessories. Had the meet on saturday 11/15.. Got back in the gym that monday and I have been pushing my lifts hard since then, and I'm feeling exhausted. Trying to figure why I'm feeling like this, all I want to do is sleep, and I still wake up tired. I also started a new job December 1st so I'm sure the stress of that is not helping out. Would you recommend taking a deload this week or waiting it out...trying to figure out if it is my training or something else making me feel like this 9/1-9/7 was my last deload before the taper and week of meet.

You are experiencing what it is like, the feeling you get, after you do a hard training cycle and peak for a competition. When you are truly at your "peak" you will experience a "come back down" phase afterwards. And it only gets worse the stronger you get. Doesn't just apply to strength athletes.....Usain Bolt isn't capable to run a 9.5 100m every day. And strength athletes as they get stronger and truly learn how to train and peak for a meet, can't hit meet #'s every day of the week. That being said it could be something else. I get that same feeling this time of year, every year, when it gets colder. Always have....I'm like a bear and just want to hibernate.
