0-60 in 4.9 = Camaro wins all day long.

notice how those crappy drivers only managed to pull a 13.4 out of 400hp car... while a bolt on GT runs high 12's all day.

wouldnt take that review too seriously you will be really dissapointed you know as well as i do what a 400hp car can do and u know they obviously didnt drive that car.. but if u want to bring in numbers.. we can play that game too check these out...

Mustang Skid pad 0.91g
Camaro Skid pad 0.88g

Mustang Slalom 68.4mph
Camaro Slalom 68.6mph

Mustang 60-0 107ft
Camaro 60-0 109ft

Mustang 0.60 4.9
Camaro 0-60 4.7

So the Camaro is faster, more comfortable, better looking, more livable and more modern.

Wanna put money on who the Comparison winner will be?

Believe it or not I like you Mustang guys here, out of my close circle of friends 3 have Mustangs. Actually, buddy of mine just found out he wouldnt be able to get an SS so i talked him into getting a Bullitt. (his budget was up to 22k, so its Bullitt all day long) Ive really got nothing personal against the Mustang and I sure as shit am not a Camaro fan boy. If anything I am more into the cars i actually own which include none of the above.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

It would be good to see the 5.0, competition is good for all manufactures. If the Mustang had not been build all these years then we may not have the new Camaro. If Chrysler didn't put the Hemi in the 300 then the horsepower race may not have happened. The 5.0 Mustang is a continuation of this, it might not have been developed if not for the Camaro SS. Competition is good. That being said, I don't see how they would be able to design the Mustang with a 5.0 without gaining some weight. The rear end needs to be redesigned to work well with the added horsepower. The GT500 didn't do as well as expected because the rear end was not able to handle the added power as well as the designers thought. We'll see what happens but everyone Mustang and Camaro fans alike should welcome honest, level headed competition.

I don't think the 5.0L will make 400HP. I predict 350 or around that,so to free up room for any future SE Mustangs like a Mach 1.

regardless of build quality or any other issue!!!

THIS ISNT THE QUESTION ASKED!!!

the question asked is ...ford is trailing as of right now in the speed, handling(not the same as feel), quarter mile, and track times...THIS IS FACTUAL BASED ON THE COMPARISONS OF MOTOR TREND AND EDMUNDS...
while the mustang trails by very little... it still does

now... after the 5.0 liter is introduced will any of that change...

THATS ALL... stop being 5 year olds...

I don't think so. I think this future "5.0" Mustang will be a mini-GT500.

Meaning heavier, but more powerful with slightly better handling than a current GT model. The current car is 3570lbs with 315hp. IF...IF it gets all the way to 400hp, then I'm going to predict a 3650-3750lb car...which will effect it's handling slightly.

On the flip side, I also think Chevy will continue to dial in the Camaro. It's chassis/suspension has a LOT of potential...they just need to tap it.

Yes it is. It's still slower in the slalom, slower round MotorTrend's figure-eight, and slower to stop (in half the tests). Those are just the numbers -- factor in the driving characteristics, and they all found that the Camaro seemed more forgiving to drive. All things considered, like CaptainSam said, it's only behind by a little bit. And coming from a Camaro 'fanboy' -- that's too close for comfort.

A shaker hood wasn't required from '69-70 or even offered on the '71-73,i don't know why it should be standard Mach 1 equipment for a new one. A shaker wouldn't even fit on that giant hood bulge on the '10.
I say a standard black hood would do.

Are you just wanting the front-running car? You are going to have a sad life trying to keep up with the joneses, just get what you want, don't worry about if a 5.0L is faster. You said you don't like Fords,so why the hard decisions?

Exactly. Good luck with that.

Don't worry, the 3.7 and 4.0 DI Phoenix engines are due next year - already stared production, so since the V6 chally and maro are in the 3700 lb range, expect some competition

expect 300-330 HP out of them, the only questions is does it get a nice transmission
