No I know the difference between two and many, and I meant many. I also challenge you to count the number of times you've seen citizens driving responsibly and safely and compare it to the relatively few times you see them breaking the law for no apparent reason. Bet my ratio is higher than yours.

And I am always respectful to cops and have never had a problem with all but one that has pulled me over who was apparently just hellbent on finding a reason to give me a ticket, he even accused me of robbery since I had my girlfriends purse in the car and she wasn't there. I had to tell him her name, then pull out her license for verification. Tell me that's not a power trip. I have no problem with the police and I respect the work they do, I was just pointing out that SOME do abuse the law the same as SOME people do. I have my answer now, they could be responding to silent alarms....that are never reported on the news....in a town with almost no crime rate........

If I get banned for this one, whatever, I'll just hang out signed off, and read tech threads. I apologize for my earlier comments about police officers, as some of them do a lot for us. This is just one of those high emotion topics for me, as a lot of the police officers around home are as corrupt as they come, but I shouldn't assume that all cops are that way. I apologize to those who I offended. I was wrong, and I will keep my opinions to myself next time.

I just live on the personal rule of returning the attitude of the person who I'm talking to. If there going to start out being an ass, well, I will return it, but their going to be mad. However if your polite then I will follow.

Easy to follow system.

..
no your wrong again because if you take the percent of officers to regular civilians and get your ratio then it would be such a small fraction you couldn't count it

again if you see an officer breaking traffic laws its because they are doing there jobs, and the ones you see doing such things are not traffic officers they are patrol and there mo is responding and the need to do such as quickly as the can safely. but traffic also may need to do such things as well to respond to there duty like wrecks and so on

you gotta remember if you get caught breaking the law big deal you get a ticket or a warning guess what you deserve either you know you screwed up deal with it, but if the get caught for doing it for no reason and get reported they are possibly putting their jobs on the line or time which equals money that they are underpaid to begin with

Actually, I travel on the interstate everyday, about 100 miles. I hate it when a cop is driving the speed limit (70 mph) and rather he drive closer to 75-80.

It has been said, cops are people too! Some have bad days and other good, I've had my fair share of ridiculously NICE cops and some jerks too...Honestly, they're doing their job and they're doing it well...keep it up =)

My wife loves to watch the police video stuff on TV. I refuse, but if she is watching it I won't change the channel. The reason I don't watch it is because the network channels/entertainment gurus or whatever only try to make the the stupid things cops do look even worse. When these videos are on TV I am yelling things at the screen like "that officer should have been written up for doing that", or "he should be fired for not seeing that coming on from the suspect" or "if he worked for me I would have him suspended".
I'm a 25 year veteran with another two years in the Marine Corps to train me how to survive on the streets. The crap you see on TV does not accurately depict how a skilled cop would perform his job....they edit it to make all cops look like assholes. Don't think that me or most of the guys in a uniform would fall for the crap lines you see on TV. And don't think that we're afraid to make a decision to let a guy go on a minor infraction just because he made us laugh. Theres no need to burn everyone over every minor thing that happens. We have no qualms about letting somebody go for a chickencrap traffic violation. Quite often we save that decision to write a violation for some person who trys to insult our intelligience, or says things about our mothers.......

Depends on infraction and driver attitude.

Since I own a 2010, I would likely chew his ass out and not be a hypocrite.

If the guy is a dick, all bets are off.

ahhh the patriot act. i deal with that in money services..haha

i will say this...ony the general i dont like cops...at least not city cops. city cops are always assholes..but i guess because in change they deal with assholes. i dont have much probably with local sheriff/state cars. i have been pulled over by them a few times...gotten tickets and warnings, and the tickets were deserved. however they have also let me off easy as well....city cops always stick it to me.

i respect someone who can take up a badge and gun and do their best to protect the whole of us...while they may not be the best people on earth...they do their job to the best they can(most times) and deal with what comes at them. same stuff i deal with at work, only they have a bit more responsibility
