My brother bought a new '69 Nova SS-L78. With the 3" longer wheelbase than a Camaro, traction was more of a problem. Recall that not even Grumpy could fully utilize his '68 Nova L78. Adding another 25 real-world hp from the L72 would have made them a handfull...

Base on the caps in MODEL...

Introduced in mid-1965 as a luxury trim package for the Impala four-door hardtop,
Chevrolet offered a full line of Caprice models for the 1966 and subsequent model years, including a "formal hardtop" coupe and an Estate station wagon. The Caprice was renamed Caprice Classic for the 1973 model year, but the Caprice nameplate returned—added in 1986 replacing the Impala

All first-year Cameos were painted two-tone white and red. Inside, the upholstery was also two-tone, and came with arm rests, dual sun-visors, a cigarette lighter, chrome interior door knobs, and a large wrap-around rear window. Priced 30% higher than their standard half-ton truck, Chevrolet sold 5,220 Cameos in 1955.

You were both fast on that one...
Wasn't this also the first fleetside truck versus a step side? I mean that was a major styling change..........

Remember the Corvair type pickup that had a side gate ?

1965 "Caprice" was, in fact, Option Code Z18 - Special Sport Sedan, available only on Impala 4-dr Hardtop. Becky is right, as by '66 it was a Model, as opposed to an Option, adding a 2-dr Hardtop and Wagon as well...
