The US market and the Japanese market are a few decades apart in history. Japan's market is what the US used to have before people decided the products were low in quality and poor in design. That gave Japan an opportunity to inject the US market with its products. For the US to be very successful in Japan, it is necessary to make their products seem inferior.

I like your quote from the Department of Commerce.

more thinking here there are 556 million shares in GM and if 1 camaro ss = 10,000 shares then the value of all the company's stock = 56,000 camaro SS's ...so we could double GM's book value by buying -in cash- all of year one's production run of Camaros....or instead of buying the cars we just buy the company...then just take the cars, er, I mean allocate the cars for company business...

If I was some barely billionaire I'd buy all 556 million GM shares @ $2.81/share = $1.6billion, then I'd could get my mightly LS with a custom two tone silver/gray paint(aka my 86 F-Bird), gray leather stitched in silver, blade spoiler, and SS wheels...

Who's comparing Canada and Mexico? I highlighted the part about actually finding something made in America.

I'm curious how many of you "buy American" folks out there also shop at Wal-Mart? If so you've got absolutely no room to talk.

Buying american cars and speding a few dollars at wall mart here and there is a bit of an unfair comparrison.

I don't like where this is headed. Lets be respectful to each other and keep the antagonistic tone out of our posts. Everyone.

We're not out to call people hypocrites here. Let's keep it civil.

We shouldn't be forced to buy American if America can't provide the best product. They work harder overseas and for less money, so they win. People are always going to make the best choice for them, not for their country.

America's middle class won't be around much longer...I suggest everyone get a good education because it's going to be much more important for the future.
