I could care less if the car had equal performance to the Mustang. It needs to have much better performance than the Mustang, especially considering that the price will be more than a Mustang. I'm not sure if others feel the same way but I for one am not trading up unless the 6th gen SS comes in at less than 3750lbs.
I fully agree. I hope to see the 6th gen SS come in around 3,650 lbs. I think it is reasonable seeing as the ATS V6 is around 3,550 lbs. I want the next SS to decimate the GT in any performance metric they can come up with. I just hope they continue the 1LE option. The current 1LE is almost exactly how I want my Camaro but I won't be able to afford it until the next generation is out.

the numbers for dimensions on the ATS jsut seem so deceiving to me. The interior specs especially. They tell me the car has more than adequate room on the inside, but when I sat in one at the auto show, I felt extremely cramped in it. Im not exactly a small guy, but im no giant either but the ATS felt incredibly small to me

the ATS isn't a big car, however if I were buying a new Camaro that's the size I would like it to be.

I think this is completely realistic.

I don't think this is realistic.

In both cases I'm talking about a V8 equipped version. 4 cylinder turbo/ 6 cylinder should hopefully be less.

Some may not like that size for the Camaro, but I agree, that is about the right size IMO. The ATS proportions are modeled after the 3 series, for many good reasons.

I will say it is more important to satisfy the non-enthusiast as far as expectations of overall size/interior space are concerned. Look at the FR-S/Subaru twins, they listened closely to enthusiasts, kept the price, size, and weight low, but have failed to generate much in the way of sales.

And that is a problem. There are plenty of other cars GM builds for non enthusiasts to drive but there is only one Camaro. Toning the car down or changing it to fit a non enthusiast isn't the right way to go. They should offer some low performance Camaro that can have all the fluffy options for those who just want the look of the car.

Yea, I'm one of those that love the 5th Gen size! Because it's not a typical two door size! Plus the 1st Gen , 60's camaro was the same size and it didn't have no problem beating the mustang or. competing with it! This is why I love the challengers! Too! The size is one of the things that made the Camaro special!

WTF are you smoking? have you ever parked next to a 1st gen? It is tiny in comparison. It's also why I kinda consider the 5th gen more of a modern muscle car rather than a pony car. 1st gen Camaro's and Mustang's as well as maybe 4th gen Camaro's and Mustang's are true Pony cars in my mind.

Lmao... get your glasses out, if you're talking bout a 69 camaro because its only a 4 inch diffence in lenght and a 1 inch difference in width! So I would say my fault that they're not the exact same inch for inch ,but it's definitely not that noticeable to everyone ! Only a 1 inch in width is not as small as y'all want for a 6th Gen!

It would be nice, but unlikely. If the C7 Z51 coupe is pushing 3500#'s, I dont see a 4 seat coupe coming in at 3600#'s.

Its possible, but unlikely.

You said first gen. The 67-68 Camaro is more first gen than 69. There is over a 2ft difference in length and 4inch difference in width between a 5th gen and 67-68 1st gen.

The 69 is everything 1st Gen but hey, that's your opinion! But the first Gen is 3 years!

Right, and in 2 of those 3 years was 67-68. Bottom line is you said first gen was the same size to a 5th gen. The statement is false and if you have ever been next to one at a car show or meet like I have you would see that it looks like a compact in comparison.
