I definitely expected more, for all the talk....but I'm not "disappointed", either.
It's a V8, RWD Chevy sedan that's pretty attractive, where sedans are concerned...

Still, I'm not sure what the product planners have in mind for the future....but I feel like the design of the new Impala could suit the Malibu better...and this car, with some US nip-tucks in design, could make a killer Impala....

BORING!!!!!!!! Looks way to much like a Malibu up front for me. For a car thats only gonna be offered with a LS3, it sure lacks the aggressiveness I wanted this car to have. To me, its a boring bland design and I would bet a majority of people looking at it from a distance will think its a Malibu or Impala. If they could have made the front end more aggressive looking, I think they would have had a real winner. The G8 design, which is 5 years old now still looks more fresh to me than this design. Hell the SS looks about as aggressive up front as my Focus.

Thats my opinion on it.

But the car is not a total failure IMO, the interior looks incredible, the seats look amazing and the rear end is pretty solid. The front end is just way to blah
This. How can GM come up with 2 amazing cars like the new Camaro and Vette then put out this average looking product is beyond me.

The reason I say disappointed is because based on all the buzz and the styling of the newest GM models I was certain this was going to be an amazing car that I was going to buy. I was really excited about it and have delayed making a buying decision just because I wanted to see this car first. After seeing it I am not interested at all.

The exterior is disappointing, but the interior looks pretty awesome.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

We knew it was going to be a Holden export...I sorta figured styling would be dictated based on that...you can't do much beyond a grille-swap unless it's development & assembly is controlled here.

Nevertheless....it's not "ugly"...I think in person it'll be a little more attractive to the eyes than pictures suggest. But I agree - it's not "wowsa" like the 5th-gen Camaro or C7 Corvette.

Again, it's a family car in Australia. You can only do so much design-wise when that's what you're starting from.

When you tell me it is going to be a "halo sedan" I expect it to blow those cars out. I think GM got a little intoxicated on the success of some or their recent model releases and let their mouth pieces get a little overzealous.
Nailed it. Over-promised but under-delivered. as a Charger/300C comptetitor, I think it's fine. I like it. But if it's $45k and automatic only, I'd keep my wallet in my pocket. Hey, it's not supposed to sell well anyway, right?

I'm sorry but that new Chevrolet SS is not worthy of being in the same picture with those 2 amazing vehicles.

They're supposedly planning to limit the number of exports so demand will remain higher than supply.

If it ends up in the mid-40 something thousand range...there will be plenty of family-men (and women) out there who want something with some serious performance but can't justify a coupe. This car appears to slot just a few ticks below the Camaro SS.

That's true and a fair statement but why was there talk of this being a 4 door Corvette? We didn't hype this car up, GM did.

In my opinion, it's too plain for being a halo sedan. Nothing about it makes me say "damn, I would spend $45k plus on that". Especially if its automatic only.

415 HP and 5 second 0-60. It'll be sporty all right.

Plus, all it really is is a way to better position and market Chevrolet in NASCAR and find an excuse to import more Holdens into the US. Killing two birds with one stone.

No limit on imports, they'll build as many as dealers order. Keyword: Order. There will be little to no inventory for this car, it'll be marketed and sold mostly as a built-to-order vehicle.
