When they release her ( probably on Thursday for time served ) I wonder how long it will be before the first pictures of her show up partying with her friends? I just had a feeling about this because there were so many unanswered questions.
Since her own lawyers said Caylee drowned and both Casey and her dad were hiding that fact, could both of them be charged with another crime? Like illegal disposal of a body?

This is the importance of a civil suit - to prevent a murderer from making millions from the fame. I'd bet within the next few days family members will be filing suit.

Why bother? she could just change her story again and some dumb a__es will believe her.

Basically she already admitted to it by her lawyers saying that is what happened. You think they would admit that was a lie too?l

+1 I agree with what u said, and not all you see or hear in the media was said in front of the jury. I think she had something to do with the death. But the holes that Baez had brought forth it was hard for a jury to bring a guilty verdict and send someone to death or life. People are way to emotional and don't know how the justice system works. Just go watch a trial or two and how things really work, people would be amazed. I called the same verdict a couple days ago with some people I know and they all said they would convict.

This is no different from the OJ case. Prosecution did a bad job, defense did a better job. The jurors did what they were supposed to, find her not guilty if they had reasonable doubt. Eventually, she will get what's coming to her when her ultimate judge and jury is one who knows the truth... and has the power to REALLY do something about it.

I heard about the Casey Anthony case a while ago and thought from the begining that she would be found gulity. Well i guess me and all of America were wrong. I couldn't believe that the jury found her not guilty. I really just dont understand.

Please remember, the jury isn't subjected to everything the people outside of the trial is.

Normal people following the case, or ANY high profile case for that matter, are subjected to countless news and opinion broadcasts (Nancy frigging Grace anyone?) who have no responsibility to report honestly or thoroughly (this is more aimed at the opinion pieces than the simple facts of the matter news pieces).

As such, many MANY of us jump to conclusions.

This is why there is jury sequestering. In the hope of giving everyone a fair shot, the Jury is charged with only considering what is shown before them. Now if the prosecution or the defense get certain items excluded it's because they prepared better legal arguments or had case law on their side.

As a reminder to anyone who is finding fault with the system, please remember these rules have been put in place over hundreds of year of case law and should you ever wind up in a position where you are on the defense side, you will fight your damn-dest to make sure the playing field is as even as possible.

Remember these two things: Innocent until proven guilty and the quote "tis better that 100 guilty men go free than an innocent man be convicted". A lot of people don't really believe these things any more, but I firmly do.


As for the statement earlier about the possibility of the family suing to prevent her from benefiting from a book deal; I don't think they have any legal standing to do so. It's not like the OJ case where the victim was a third party and the family had a legitimate argument.

Who would file for wrongful death in this case with standing? The victim was her own daughter, I don't remember seeing anything about the father and I don't believe the grandparents or extended family would have any basis for preventing it. Just the rules of law.

With what i do for a living i deal first handedly with the courts and ill tell you that 9 times out of 10 the entire system is bullshit......trust me i would not lie to you...

couldn't the judge overturn the jury's decision anyway? Never hear anyone calling out the judge. Although, i'm pretty sure this is a case of the prosecutor sucking.

Your wrong, it's due to the lack of evidence that links her to the death. If she did not lie and mislead the police, and they found the body in the first part of summer the outcome would have been different.

I still think the jury dropped the ball, and did not look at the big picture.

I saw news footage of people outside the courthouse chanting "Appeal. Appeal." The prosecution can't appeal a not guilty verdict... Too many people who don't understand how the system works sticking their noses in, IMO.
