looks to me like samurai speed was testing stick vs auto... and the auto to a drop into drive at high rpm... of course that's gonna screw up the transmission.

It was in the news a few months ago. From that angle it looks a little worse than it was. Photos of the truck afterwards show it more accurately. IIRC, there were minor injuries or maybe a broken arm or something, but everybody got out alive.

Yep. The only thing it got was the drivers side door. The cab area was left pretty much in tact.
