I screwed up my sciatic squatting and I was terrified to squat for the longest time (years). The pain is something you never want to relive. Depending on your age you heal pretty quick tho and can get back at it with a belt.

Sciatic nerve is nothing to play with... Fully understand that fear.

It's plagued a family member on and off for years now. No bueno!

I have a friend of mine that's a PhD He specializes in exercise science... I'm giving his routine a run.

It's a 5 day a week routine, focusing mostly on compound exercises, time is something I'm short on, so keeping to a 60 min workout is important to me.

M/w/f- lifting
Tues/Thursday - cardio

In conjunction with the products I'm taking, I've dropped 9lbs in 2 full weeks. Feeling good!

Anxious to see results at about the 8-12 week mark.

Without the SS?

Which one do you have? Got Monique the reactive one and she will start using it this week.

I've always felt the same way. Never lifted to look good or for fitness....always seemed boring to me....like driving a Prius on the interstate....would rather lift like a top fuel dragster.

Well you can do both. You can have great strength and look great, you just have to have an on point diet. I find it when I keep the weight below 315 on bench, my joints thank me for it the next day. It's fun hitting 365 on bench, but other then saying you can lift heavy, it's pointless unless you're competing.

To a certain degree you can. But then again that depends on what your definition of strong is.

Edit....

The byproduct of lifting heavy will get you a certain degree of fitness and you will look reasonably good if say you are 220 or under. You will also have a certain degree of strength lifting to "look good" or to be uber fit. But you will never get close to your potential in any of the categories if you don't gear your training to that.

A mile runner won't be slow in the 100....and a 100 meter runner won't be slow in the mile....but 2 different types of training.

Yeah picked that up without the SS today. Progressing quickly. I have the full boar SS. It's a little stronger than the original. I'm ordering up the double ply next week for my birthday along with the reasonated x pipe welded in w the muffler delete.

Still at it. I would say healing is just about complete. One more week and I'll be at it full bore. No pain at all doing squats or anything else for that matter. I'm still adding weight regularly and will probably be back to where I left off real soon.

Thought I'd give a quick review of the Slingshot.

We got Monique the reactive one (the lightest one of all). Monique has the correct strong muscles to lock the weight out but sometimes struggles keeping her elbows and arms underneath the bar to use these muscles. This greatly helped with that as evident by the results.

So occasionally we have her do 135 for sets of reps. Today it was 6x6. 6th rep was tough on the first 5 sets. On the last set she put the slingshot on and made 13 reps on her last set!

That's awesome! I love this thing. I want to get my wife one when she is done PT. She only weighs 120-130lbs tops in the offseason. How much does your girlfriend weigh? I assume you had to go with the large? I barely fit into my XL at 200lbs so I may have to buy the XXL next time.

135 +/- 5lbs.

Yeah I called before I ordered it for her. Got the large.
