I voted for the z28 of course, but the others aren't bad at all.

?

Why did you post that in this thread? That page is a year old & has nothing to do with the Colorado.

Phillip seems to be a spammer who started legit posting but sometimes still spams for MuscleCarzone or whatever.

I had read that they were expecting the Duramax option to come in at around $3500-3700. I was playing with the build your own feature on the Chevrolet website today and adding a baby DMax to a 2WD Z71/Crew Colorado adds a cool $4,900 to the truck.

Ouch.

I'm sure it will find some loving owners but my pockets couldn't afford that markup even if I wanted one. Z71/2WD/Crew with a bed liner, Nav, Bose, and mud flaps will keep me plenty happy at under $34K MSRP

The added cost that they advertise is on top of the V6, not the base 4 cylinder.

Fudging the numbers, basically. Sounds decent till you see its actually more. If I recall the V6 is only actually standard on a V6 crew cab 4WD, so $3500 is only the markup for those trucks. $4900 for 2WD trucks (and any double cab?).

Could be worse. Got a Ford F550 at work...markup for the Powerstroke and trans was $8200...

GM has plans to satisfy insane demand for mid-sized trucks.

Will this move put GM's mid size truck production capacity on par with Toyota's Tacoma production capacity?

It'll bring it closer. That San Antonio plant is a much newer facility, but it's suuuuuper underutilized. I remember a few years back Toyota had the employees doing landscaping and stuff around the plant because they had built too many trucks.

I doubt it will make much of a difference. If they were outsourcing every single Savana & Express van, then they'd still probably come up short. Though they'd probably be within spitting distance at least. But the article says that GM is only having AM General do the chassis-cab vans. Those are the ones that get turned into ambulances or delivery trucks or small buses. I don't how many of those they sell each year, but I'm going to guess that its much less than the 100k or so needed to get on par with Tacoma production.

I agree, I don't see this being a permanent solution. I think that it is probably a short term solution so they can take advantage and gain some market share while they work towards something permanent.

Tried another fix on mine at the dealer yesterday. PIP5303 has an "A" version on it now PIP5303A so we tried to load it, but it says I'm already on the latest update. Seems it's only edits to the bulletin text and not the update.

So I still have the transmission "searching for gears" problem and after some further research and a paid subscription it appears I'm stuck with it.

PIP5342 pretty much spells out my issue to a tee. Needless to say I'm pretty pissed about this one.

Yah, drives much better now for me but still reluctant to shift down. Dealer called and offered to get me out of lease after a year, coming up in 6 weeks, I may do that.
Haven't driven a vehicle with such unrefined driving characteristics since 1993. Test drive the diesel at that point. and drive that for a day or two.
Now that winter is here there is another piss off about this truck. 4wD. There is no auto mode and god damn, driving around in 4hi feels like there are detroit lockers in the front. Skipps around corners, feels like it doesn't want to turn. sheesh.
