Have a speaker going out or just loose wiring, she crackles and pops and stops working all together randomly. Extremely annoying, going to the dealership today for a speaker under warranty, and also getting no the test diff fluid changed as the car is just shy of 45K miles.

Air conditioning still is nice!

Hey, what sound system setup are you running. Did you change your interior speakers? What kind of amp/size are you running and is it 4 channel?

I had a speaker take a crap on me, so now I'm looking at upgrading the whole system, I'd like to find an Amp that can hide where the stock one hides, then I'll run wiring to an external amplifier that will run a couple of subs.

I've been looking at the J L audio MX version amps.

Basically I don't want to go to powerful that I'll be blowing interior speakers with the stock replacement amp, but I want enough power to hit hard until I decide to wire in a 2nd amplifier and subs.

Are you keeping stock speakers or putting in new ones all around? If you're keeping the stock ones stick to any amp 75 watts rms or lower otherwise you'll risk blowing the speakers. If you're upgrading the speakers then the Alpine PDX line of amps (if those are still around) I think will fit in the stock location. I had a PDX 4.100 in my last car, fantastic amp. Even found out that if it gets soaked in motor oil that it'll still function.

I plan to change the speakers as well, but might wait for another one to blow after this one gets fixed under warranty before I change them.

This is the amp I'm currently considering.

Oh yeah that will definitely work and it fits in the stock spot. I'm in the same boat, one rear speaker doesn't do bass anymore so I'm waiting on nicer weather to spend a few hours inside the car replacing stuff

I do have a JL DX 4 channel 400watt driving the internal speakers. My fronts were replaced with Polks midrange and tweeters. Rears are still stock.

I read something that says you lose function of the center dash speaker? Actually it was a question asked on sub th-umps website about their FARK harness. Is this true?

Yes and thank god. It sounds 100 times better without the center channel.
