Our Mustang Club is a Sister club to the Northern Virginia Corvette Club. We will do alot of events together, Track Days, Drag Days, Car Shows, it's a Lot of Fun. I like Corvette Owners they are Cool people and they give us props when they are due, (Mostly when Drag Racing LOL) but they Kick are asses at the Track Days.. Vettes rule the track The Camaro Clubs won't join us at the events (I guess Camaro People Think of it as Slumming) Not sure. I will find out why when I get my Camaro....

I pay attention to cars when I am driving too. I am obsessed with cars! lol It is kind of a sickness actually haha. I do not see nearly as many cool cars as you. My school commute is only 25 mins though. What trim/color Camaro are you getting?

The average person is never going to push these cars to its full potential, so saying braking doesnt matter because people will never push it to actually need the brembos is stupid. Fact is, it is there and it can be used so the mustang has to deal with it. On a track it would matter and it would make a difference. It doesnt go away because you dont think its fair.

Problem is, you missed what I was saying entirely, yes the brembos are great and it is a great option for those who ARE going to use them on a track, my point was that 99% of buyers will not need that option, so trying to baloon the Mustangs base price to make it more expensive than the Camaro is ridiculous.

The problem is with your argument is that then there would be no point in comparing the performance of these two cars considering 90%+ of these drivers wouldn't get it past 70 MPH, much less race. However, we do not know rather or not the 2011 GT will need the Brembos in its comparison. If it does, then it should be added, but if not then the base price will be fine.

Does anyone know if there is any difference betwen the 2010 track pack brakes and the base 11 brakes?

As a side note, Jalopnik posted a list of avail options, one ting I noticed is that besides the stock 3.31 gears, there is an optional 3.55 and 3.73. Also, looks liike the premium package is required for the Brembos. http://jalopnik.com/5450861/2011-for...still-worth-it

I think a poster in this thread informed us that the premium package is not required for Brembos

On that pricing sheet on Jalopnik, it shows the Brembos avail with the premium package only. Hopefully that is incorrect or they change their mind on it.

On the 2005-2009s at least, there were optional gears. They ran about $300.

It shows 3.55s and 3.73s as option on the 11 model, that is great. I would love a base GT with the 3.73s as the only option

If you get the 3.73s on a new car, it will not void the warranty. Putting aftermarket parts on it will. Plus, I think launching a 400+hp Mustang with 4.30s would not be fun.

Yep and for me it'll be an everyday driver. Test drive pending, I'll probably picking up the GT in a year or so. Wanna pay down the Jeep a bit more and wait for the coming "dealer adjustments" to cool off, not to mention hopefully biuying a house this year. I like the Camaro, just the interior room and vision outside kinda threw me off. love the CHallenger, just a bit too pricey (just adding 20s, 6 speed, and STP would bring it to around 34k, not bad IMHO, just more than I want to spend).Plus I may be able to get A Plan pricing when I am ready. I have a while to consider colors, but am thinking performance white or grabber blue, thoughts?
