“Cheap” gas just hopped up $0.26 a gallon today to $4.699. Can’t sell electric vehicles if gas prices are low. This sucks!

Keep your tank topped off, though. You'll be glad you did once the electrical grid starts shutting down from time to time.

Don't feel bad. The cost of electricity will be going through the roof as well soon enough.

Why is the electrical grid going to shut down? And why is electricity going to go up? Is there a new line of cars using up all the natural gas and nuclear power we ain’t heard about?

You haven't heard about California and other electric vehicle heavy stats already calling for blackouts this summer? Additionally, many nuclear plants are closing and natural gas prices are through the roof.

I hate it for people. There really isn’t a viable alternative to paying those prices then. Kinduva suck it up buttercup situation.

Sure there is. It's called quit handicapping America because you want to spite the opposite political party. We were 100% energy independent up until the afternoon of 1/20/21. At which point we set ourselves back 10+ years.

Mods, seize him! (I spent 30 days in the hole recently) Apparently there is NO “political” reason why gas prices are what they are. It happens through cosmic osmosis, determined by celestial star-shedding events in a galaxy far, far away. No human hands touched that pump when it went from $3.00 to $6.00. It just happened.

Or maybe global supply and demand. When following hoofprints in the sand, better to luck for a horse than a zebra.

I could understand demand argument. But it's not like we suddenly all came back to work at the same time. If they had to limit supply because of global shutdown in April 2020, they still had almost two years of steady come back, and only now demand went so up that they cannot keep up? Any insider to explain? Because political reasons sound more than plausible.

Supply and demand??? What??? How dare you attack us with your silly basic economic facts. Reporting you to the mod now, and I hope you take some time to think about what you’ve done here today…

No need to look for conspiracies when incompetence proven a hundred times over is a completely adequate explanation.

The sitter in the White House let the cat out of the bag two weeks ago when he said we are feeling the pain of ‘transitioning to a green economy.’ That should take all the guess work out.
