Yay!!!! They finally brought the G8 back. I like the look, but it seems strange to me that GM would bring back an old design. It even looks much like a G8 did.

It's not the same car although you may think it looks the same. It's a newer version. A VF Commodore where the G8 was the VE Commodore. The VF is more sophisticated than the old VE.

I don't know where you are getting this assumption from but you would be wrong. I currently own 2 Dodge products, a 2005 Dakota and a 2012 Charger and I haven't had any problems with either car, I also owned a 2005 SRT4 with no problems other than a busted boost gauge. None, I repeat NONE of my Dodge vehicles have ever even been in the shop for any repairs, just oil and tire rotations. My 2002 Z28 was in about once a year for pinion seals, my 2009 Cobalt SS was in the shop every other week, rear brake rotors, power steering failure, ignition broke locking the keys in them had to stall the car to turn it off, power windows had to be fixed 3 times, dead battery 2x's. Sold the car after 1 year. Yeah Dodge's suck, lol!

You're pretty much talking semantics if you ask me. They always make improvement as a platform ages. But in the end, it's still and old platform. Just putting the LS3 in this car alone shows me that it's not forward thinking. I hope this move doesn't bite them in the butt.

The LS3 is in the car because the LT1 wasn't ready when the VF went into development.

Was really looking forward to this unveil, and very disappointed.

BORING!!!!!!!! Looks way to much like a Malibu up front for me. For a car thats only gonna be offered with a LS3, it sure lacks the aggressiveness I wanted this car to have. To me, its a boring bland design and I would bet a majority of people looking at it from a distance will think its a Malibu or Impala. If they could have made the front end more aggressive looking, I think they would have had a real winner. The G8 design, which is 5 years old now still looks more fresh to me than this design. Hell the SS looks about as aggressive up front as my Focus.

Thats my opinion on it.

But the car is not a total failure IMO, the interior looks incredible, the seats look amazing and the rear end is pretty solid. The front end is just way to blah

I understand that ,but it doesn't change the fact that this car differs from the direction that GM has been doing with the other models. This car has a little taste of the old GM to me. While I like the car, I just got to wonder if it's appeal won't wear on people quickly. I guess time will tell. I will be amazed if these cars sell that well.

They aren't supposed to sell well. They are a premium specialty nitch car and are not supposed to sell more than 10,000 a year.
The G8 was such a slow seller too. And never really had a chance to develop before the plug was pulled, so essentially this is a new car to the market over here.

I am pretty disappointed. After months of reading comments from folks over at GM telling us to expect a "4-door Corvette" I don't know how else we could feel. The styling is soft and there is nothing especially wowing about it mechanically. Honestly, all it is is the Charger/300 competitor they should have been building for several years now. When you tell me it is going to be a "halo sedan" I expect it to blow those cars out. I think GM got a little intoxicated on the success of some or their recent model releases and let their mouth pieces get a little overzealous.

This photo says it all. It looks like someones mom just showed up.

Maybe their cool aunt, if you lower it and add some tint.

EDIT: You can tell GM loves the door crease.
