The media is having a fit because the NRA mentioned two particular kids in their new commercial..... Basically calling him a hypocrite, which he is..... but the media feels the children should be out of bounds.

the media feels the children should be out of bounds.

the media feels the children should be out of bounds.

the media feels the children should be out of bounds.

I mean, we know the media has no scruples, interviewing 6 yr olds the day after the school shooting...... but it's still funny to hear them say it.

Well he said Children should not be brought into politics, regardless of the fact that he had a few of them with him the other day while signing the EO's.

That being said, anybody that doesn't think the President's children AREN'T a bigger potential target than their own... well that's just stupid. All children's lives are of the same value. But people have to be real... if you were some crazy that wants to get your name in the paper, which children would you want to pick? The average citizen, or a politician?

Let's please not get this thread locked too. I am very unsure of where the "don't cross" line is in the rules, but I'm betting a lot of us have been putting our toes across the line by accident lately

The hypocrite badge fits them pretty well

Ask Adam Lanza

And why ask Adam Lanza? Because he was crazy? Because I know the reason he picked that school? Which do you think he would pick if all things were equal? Obviously a personal vendetta or anger is not random. So... kind of irrelevant.

None? That's dependant completely on your child's school. There are many schools that have armed guards/cops/SRO's. Columbine for instance had them (didn't prevent it, but at least kept it from being worse?). And who should push that anyway? Lawmakers to the school, or parents to the school? I would think the latter. Just my opinion. And that issue was addressed by one of his EO's (number 18 I think?).

Look, all I'm saying is that the ad, no matter what my personal feelings were, is a bad comparison of anything. That's like thinking we all need private security in the same manner that high officials or other high profile "potential targets" need. That's simply not true. Same with the family. Not saying our families aren't as important, or that we shouldn't protect them, or that we shouldn't protect ourselves. It's just the acknowledgement that, by all accounts, we the "little people" are not deemed important enough for any threat other than "random". That's why the security is so much different. Nothing personal, not trying to be offensive, but it's fact. If someone randomly shot me, nobody would remember that guy's name 50 years from now except for my family. But we all know who Lee Harvey Oswald is right? John Wilkes Booth? Without looking it up, can anyone even remember the kids' names at Columbine? There were two. I can't remember both of their names. I bet a majority of people not effected directly by it can't either. Someone will probably look it up anyway, but it'll defeat the purpose of my question.

Also this way if we have threads about Obama's new Executive Orders or any new bills introduced in Congress that just so happen to get out of hand, the mods can just close those specific threads down instead of putting everything to a halt.

We already have a gaming sub-forum and a sports sub-forum so why not a firearms sub-forum.
I like this idea too
