Figured thats why he killed the soldiers, kinda you abandoned your post and allowed my family to get bit kinda thing?

i think he killed them just because he didn't want such a huge group to join his group. Plus he wanted their resources.

I'm kind of torn with his decision. Definitely see why he did it, but at the same time I think I would've wanted a group of guys with military training helping to protect the place.

Exactly way better to have Military Protection then a few janitors with M16s to protect the compound, but there is a reason for every decision

They do later in the comics but his son was turned into a walker so he kept Him alive just like his wife, he couldn't kill them...

I think killing the military is just plain stupid murder. He should have taken them in, trained military forces with better weapons and it is more muscle to defend the town. And then keeping the heads in the aquariums? How sick and perverted is that?
