I guess me being 26 and wanting a manual puts me outside of the "norm"

I get it. I’m not bashing auto’s, just completely surprised by the manual take rate. Really thought it would be 60/40 in favor of the auto. I used to be a manual only person but my daily now is an auto. For a sports car though, I still can’t seem to choose the auto. I’ve driven DCT’s as well and it still wasn’t very engaging for me. If I drag raced, I’d probably go auto because of the consistency.

I wish we could get all the age data as well but I’d be willing to bet the younger guys have a higher take rate for the manuals.

I have plenty of manuals to choose from, so I wanted an auto this time. I do think the manuals will be more desirable in the future.

Me thinks GM is waiting until the end to build the last few cars as ZL1 CE and Garage 56?

They probably want to build at least one unit in 2024 even though the official last day of manufacturing is 12/7/23, I saw somewhere that this was a requirement to be allowed to use a model year designation.

Such a great list to have.
I went thru all the 2022 list to number in sequence by vin# all the Rapid blue zl1 1le 6 speed cars and mine is #6
36 total were built with usa getting 28 and other 8 were exported.
Mine was the 1st to receive the carbon fiber shift knob and 2nd getting the black fuel door w/carbon fiber insert.
So cool seeing what dealerships received these awesome machines.

...any chance of 2018 MY stats? I know the API doesn't work with my VIN, but maybe there is another one...?

I wish it were so

For whatever reason GM only uploaded the 2020+ model year stickers for all GM cars through that API. Haven’t seen a single pre-2019 sticker show on it before.

You can see this in action on CarFax’s search site. Any 2019 will not have the window sticker on the carfax report while every 2020 will have it
