I understand the discourtesy in it, but as an avid drag racer since I was a kid I understand the concept behind it and I dont get frustrated when it's done to me.....especially on a pro tree. Again it's a strategy and anyone who does it may have a reason behind it more than just trying to be a dick. I will double bulb on a pro tree if need be becaus my rollout isn't enough to allow me to cut a good light if I don't based on the situation. Not enough to get upset over in my opinon. I got double bulbed, then I double bulbed but not because of retaliation, but because I needed that extra couple of inches.

I'm sure there will be a lot of double-bulbing in Indy I think, we can all be jerks.

Yeah the deal on autostart is that if both cars are going DEEP, the second car only has 1.2-1.7 seconds to get staged and set once the second light is lit.

Since NMCA will be there unlike LS Fest, I wonder if they will allow it to happen.

At least now, we know a select group of people that this game does not need to be played with and who we need to be prepared for. :seesaw:

That sounds like the obvious answer. I guess too many people here were expecting courtesy staging and got surprised.

Is NMCA running Indy? If so, it may not be an issue if courtesy staging is enforced.

If dude double bulbs you, and you take to long to stage (first bulb). Cant they still drop the tree and red light you, for takeing to long to stage? If they don't penalize for taking too long once double bulbed, then yeah I'll take a nap and eat supper before I stage.

If 3 bulbs are lit (Your stage and opponets pre, and stage) then there is a 7-10 second timer that will foul you out if you dont stage in that timeframe.

But if you dont light your prestage then you can wait until the starters freak out and make you get in the beams, or try to.

Well for the heads up classes like ODR LSX we all courtesy stage at least for the first bulb. We also look at each other (I stage my buddy's car) and we don't go into the beams until both cars are ready. If you look at a lot of pro car footage that is expected. We typically will stay about two feet from the beams, see where the other car is at, and then go into the first beam. Now if the 2nd guy bumps into both that's fine but none of us will rush to the line and light everything up and get on the 'brake.

We are beating a dead horse here a bit but now that everyone expects to get double-bulbed we can all manage our expectations.
