Pronated I can do 8 solid ones but that's about it. For some reason pronated is painful but supinated is not so I don't do them much.
Front rack chins are something I've worked on since I was in the Marine Corps so I can crack off a bunch.

I lied though, I do mine pronated (palms out). I got the terms confused.

Pronated are more difficult, a lot of people can do them supinated and not pronated. Regardless of which way they are an excellent upper body workout and should be incorporated in any workout

I agree...no matter what routine I'm doing I always have front rack chins in there. My goal was 30 in the first set and I hit that this morning, then got 13 on the second set, and 12 on the 3rd.

That's a lot of chins. I think the reason they are so effective is that they exhaust your muscles easily. Most exercises I lose a rep or two with every set but chins you loose a lot more and with every set you feel them deeper it seems.

I do wide grip (all the way to the edge) chins pronated. They make me realize how big of a wuss I really am I'm still terrible at them. The most I've ever been able to do in one set was 20, and that was before an injury awhile back. I'm lucky to get 10 now. Close grip though, I can crank those things out like nobody's business. And supinated? HECK YES... get those biceps in there and doing their fair share lol

You little young guys erk me. I'm at 180lbs now and have very long limbs so I'm moving a lot of weight a long distance in comparison, if I didn't keep reminding my self of that I'd be embarassed LOL

Yep, I need some of those abbreviations sometimes. Here is an LOL for you guys. I took a weight training class in college. Mind you I was raised on a farm & am no total weakling but in the class one thing we did was sets on every station of a universal machine One of which was pull up handles. First of all I was the only female taking the class, second I could not even reach the handles & had to be lifted up by one of the guys and third I could not even pull myself up once. I was so frustrated I could do everything else well enough to really surprise the guys, but......not even one. They made it my goal to be able to do at least one pull up by the end of the class. And yes I did succede, more than one in fact but I really don't remember how many I was able to do. Now do you feel better CFD?

They def take work. In the Marines they were part of our PFT (physical fitness test) we had to pass at various intervals. Chin ups, as many situps as we could do in 2 minutes, and a 3 mile run. A perfect score was 20 pull ups, 100 sit ups in the 2 minute time limit, and 3 mile run in 18:00. I rocked the pull ups and sit ups, but I've never been a strong runner and my best ever time was in the 24:XX range. Now I'd be lucky to make that 3.0 mile run in 30 minutes LOL

We had a guy that would crack off that run in 16:XX. No idea how he did that.
