I personally have never found myself to be grunting excessively even when benching or dealifting heavy. And seeing how all there plates are rubber I wouldn't think they would make much noise lol! But agreed none the less.

I don't grunt either nor do I bang around weights intentionally but sometimes it does happen, I just find the thought of an alarm to be quite humorous, I guess if I was in a gym and somebody grunted and I didn't hear it I would want an alarm to go off so I would know I missed it. lol

I like my little home gym. Don't have the best and latest, but I can do whatever I want whenever I want. We haven't added anything in like twenty years, and going on close to thirty years for most of our equipment. Hubby welded most of it, bought it in kit form, and then put it all together/painted. Covers the basics. He did recently buy a "slingshot" for benching and said he's getting me an Ab Carver/wheel for my birthday next month! I'm fine just using a dumbbell, but he said its more ergonomic. A few pics of our setup.

Did your husband like the slingshot? He should use it probably once every two weeks or so

Said he really like it, but he's been using every chest day. So are you recommending to skip a few, he does chest twice a week?

I would say he dosn't need to train chest twice a week as there are all the other body parts he may be skipping. If he does does do chest twice a week possibly only use it on 1 of 4 of his chest workouts in two weeks.

I think I am going to order one for Monique. She has a difficult time keeping her elbows in.

Man am I getting restless. I'm a week in to recouping and feeling pretty good. I should be seeing my doctor in another week to week and a half and am hoping he will cut me loose although that may be a little premature. Still quite a bit of swelling but almost no pain except for getting in and out of my car, friggin' thing is low. lol

I bench with my elbows out naturally to keep the triceps out of it as much as possible. I do love the sling shot tho on heavy press days. To add 45-100 lbs to your bench in 3 seconds is awesome!

Hi all.
I was doing great and have been without any discomfort for a few days until yesterday. I was experiencing a little pain, when I got up this morning swelling has increased quite a bit and so has the pain. I'm not sure what's going on but something's not right. So much for getting back to the gym right away.

I'm hoping it's just because I've been moving around a lot, haven't lifted a thing and have been doing light machine work so as not to be physical. I'll see what tomorrow brings. I do have a follow up visit with the surgeon on Friday.

RubyCamaro, how's your back doing? Tried any of the Core Exercises I suggested/recommended? Since my back surgery Core Exercises are number one, along with a really good stretching routine. Best part with core workouts, they usually require only your body weight. Although I use dumbbell as an Ab Wheel, those are really tough to do, they suggest using a wall as a stop when first starting so you can't accidentally rollout too far. Hope you're doing much better!
