That's what I don't get. I hope that these guys know that GM is hiking up the price on the ZL1 $1995, so where's that argument now?

Hmm that QC hold on the ZL1 sure does seem fishy now doesn't it? All those 2012 orders that got rejected and changed to 2013, I wonder why?

No.

"Why are you dancing around the question at hand."
I thought we were debating the question.

"However, those who are too prideful to admit defeat..."
And this is the statement that made me realize this is a waste of time.

I am betting the faster time is attributable to a lucky pick with the LC or a better cooled car rather than actually driving better than evan smith, but the real test will come over the next few weeks with private owners and mag tests where they have more time with the car. Once the guys around englishtown and atco start gettin runs in though, i think you're going to see a lot of deep 11s.
I was only suspicious because that 11.6 @ 125 is dangerously close to the official Ford time according to Autoblog. Of course, the time could be attributed to the fact that MotorTrend always corrects their times for something like this it seems.

Ahh, that makes 100x more sense. They didn't mention the part about taking the car away from the Media day in the article though.

But isn't the decision to purchase anything subjective? subjective to one's interests and desires? Just because one machine can perform better than the other in stock form doesn't mean that's the major influence in purchasing the vehicle. There are so many decisions that go into buying this car or that car, that it is all subjective to one's knowledge and how deep your pockets are. I can state my opinion that the major and probably the most important reasons someone purchases a car like the Camaro or the Mustang is based on how it looks to them and how they feel when they drive it. So, like some others have said, it's whatever makes YOU feel good, nothing else matters.

To tie this in with 2ndCamaro79's OP, read the last paragraph of his post. 'nuff said.

Hate to say it, but a quick glance almost looks like the new GT500's have embraced the LOOKS of the 1977 Cobra model.... Just more muscle....Yea I know it is actually different, but the "main lines" are strikingly dated on the current cars. Maybe most folks here don't remember these ol Mustang II Cobras. So now we have a bigger engine in a moderately revised GT500 body style. But... the DNA still exists. It's just part of the heritage. And it's a foundation that "moves you to like em or hate em".... regardless of engine.

Ok so maybe I missed it, but has the GT500 released any track times?? I also do believe when I get my 2013 ZL1, I can make it quicker in the 1/4 mile for less than the $6,500 upgrades from Ford! I'm not bashing Ford or the GT500, just stating what I believe is true! Also, have any times been released for base model 13 GT500's yet? Maybe I missed those too!!

My 2SS still scares the crap out of me when the nannies are off so this bantering is actually comical.
Right on! I love the pony wars, but the mag comparisons and techie stuff doesn't mean anything. How many folks are really willing to put their newer cars on a Road Course and see how good the cars are? Four track days later and I'm finally feeling that I need some mods (2010 2SS). Unless you push it, the rest is just bench racing BS. I'm sure I could beat most the of pretty boys that drive a GTR since they wouldn't want to get bug spots on it. Not that I'm a great driver, but I am willing to learn and have been taking my car to the track to get better. Let the pony wars continue since we just keep getting better options, but I hope they don't get into the "exotic" expensive range. Track days are expensive enough. The speed light racers are just posers anyway.

yeah and teh ZL1 would beat on that ferrari. For fans seem to forget the ZL1 laps really fast.

http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/vi...l_raceway.html

The ZL1 smoked it. different day though so it is magazine racing. that is the down side to comparing stuff like this that could have been a fast day but if you wath the lap the car is moving out.

For GT is old ran older generation tires, outdated braking now.

with updates the Ford GT would spank the GT500 easy.
