X is home, hoes. Been out pampering X2 for doing so well last night. Treated her to a fluid flush - oil, differential fluid, and transmission fluid.
I don't think the diffy fluid had been changed since the gears were installed (which, I confirmed today are 3.73s) and it had a LOT of metal shavings in the fluid, I'd assume from the gears breaking-in. There were a few larger-sized shavings stuck to the magnet on the diff. cover, and the rest of the fluid looked like somebody had dumped an ounce of silver paint into it. LMAO.

Going to change the fluid again in a few thousand miles just to make sure its not a problem with the install.

Haven't done the trans fluid change yet (I bought the fluids but didn't do the change) because I ran out of time today, so I'll be doing it tuesday evening instead.

Andwho... what're you whores up to this evening?

LMAO! Nice. I'm still on the fence with X2. I'd love to get an STS kit for her, but at the same time I'm only shooting for 13.5 in the 1/4 (so a little less than half a second to drop) and I don't want to drop into the 12s because I don't want to have to worry about driveshaft saftey loops, etc etc.

I'm honestly thinking a mild cam and a set of slicks for the track would get me there without a problem, especially after I get the money/time to do a full rebuild.

I'm really not building mine for the 1320. I'm just doing it for me and the sheer fun of it. Next year will be Hendrix axles, upgrade tranny, forged pistons, Yank S3200 torque converter and meth injection.

LMAO. Sounds awesome.

I'm not building mine for the 1/4 mile either per se, but a while back I abitrarily picked 13.5 as a good number for street-usable acceleration (and based on my right-at-14-second runs, and my experience with this car around town, I don't think I'd really get much use out of much more than another 50 hp - which is about what .5 seconds is) but at the same time I don't want to drop below 13.00 because I still want to be able to take the car on the 1/4 and stretch it out all the way. LMAO.

Actually, I'm much more interested in autocross than I am in drag racing. After I get the rebuild finished I'm looking at a complete suspension overhaul. Tubular k-member/control arms, coil overs, etc.

And as soon as the rear end blows up (its inevitable with the stock 10 bolt) I'm going to be putting in a 12 bolt.

LMAO. I just noted this post.

X2 is what I call my 93. Xanthos was the name of my 86, so the 93 is Xanthos II, or X2 for short.
- X

P.S. - Three in a row. LMAO. Just to annoy DG.
