This is basically how its done for all car companies.
bingo, isn't that actually just the Evos concept car that previewed the Fusion?

I suppose I will wait until the actual car comes out. If it brought back some of the cues of the SN95 new edges, then I probably would like it... but that would probably be considered retro too

Anyway I don't know ha ha, maybe it is because depending on which "expert" is talking I'm either Gen X or Gen Y... I guess I'm trans-gendered... err I mean trans-generational.

I agree. What's wrong with evolving a car's style with each generation? Why does it constantly need to be reinvented? Corvettes and Porsche 911's have timeless styling that, despite having been similar for decades, still submit to modern styling trends and implement them seamlessly.

That Evos car doesn't look like a Mustang in any way, shape, or form. Taking styling cues from it will detract from the Mustang's heritage. Worst of all, the rest of cars in its class (including ours) will PROBABLY follow suit.

Somehow I think this has to do with the fact that the Mustang is going global and will have to appeal to a larger audience.

Oh god, you just brought back a horrible memory of my brother's Michael Jackson Moonwalker jacket and the white gloves. And....the Halloween he dressed up like a girl. I'll take my legit blue collar muscle please, as a previous Mustang owner keep the Mustang a muscle car. This concept looks like a Ford Probe, I hate it.

They can do that look to my Fiesta though.

Ranger 6-cyl > Iron Duke.

True, true, but don't forget you didn't have a choice of V8 with the Mustang II when it came out.

True. At least for that one year.

And as it turned out, the 2.8L Cologne V6 in the 1974 also could only be pushed full-throttle once....as my dad found out when he was driving my mother's 74 back in the day.

For mid-70s cars I didn't think the Mustang II was that bad a looker. Almost everything was bloated beyond recognition back then.....and underpowered.

well the nonhatchback, it could have been alright if they hadn't overdone the feminine details. like you said, it did basically look like a mustang. they just went overboard.

of course it's competition was the Awesome 2nd gen Camaro and Firebird's.
