I had my last cigarette on January 1st and haven't looked back. When I have the craving for one (which is usually when I am drinking or after I eat) I use an electronic cig from Premium E-Cigarettes...peach or pineapple flavored are the best! No I still get the nicotine when I need it without the 38+ carcinogens from tobacco. Plus no smoke, no smells, none of the bad stuff. And I don't smoke the e-cigs too much now.

i'm 1/3 way through this round of chemo. i'm only going once a week, but it's 110 miles round trip.
i had to make a special trip today for $1,500 shot to boost my white cells
for the next sitting. had the chemo yesterday and this shot has to be given 24 hrs after the chemo. the shot also adds flu symptoms to me for a couple days on top of what the chemo and steroids do.
anyway, long story short is it isn't curable and life expectancy of 5 yrs is 14%. the chemo is trying to keep it in check.

SO, ALL YOU SMOKERS QUIT WHILE YOU STILL GOT A CHANCE!!!

y2k king, thanks for sharing your story. Thanks to everyone here for posting their stories and suggestions and commitment to help fellow members.
I am preparing to quit. I ordered a brand new Camaro as a reward and still waiting to find out the build date. I have patches and lozenges ready to go. Tomorrow will be day 1. I have the next week off work to get thru without going postal on my co-workers.
I lost my mother to cancer in '98, she was 49. I am 38 and I just had a scare with my thyroid. I have a few cysts, which have been looked at by ultrasound and then biopsied and I got the word on monday that they are benign and that there is no reason medically to remove them, but I can elect to if I wish to. I have decided not to because there are others that need surgery more than I do and I don't want to make them wait.
I am relieved and now more motivated than ever to change my ways. I don't know how many get out of jail free cards I have left in my life but this one got my attention. My husband is a Dodge guy and we are trading his old Dodge Dakota for the Camaro, and it's all mine so long as I quit smoking. I can't wait for the car to arrive, and be able to smell the brand new car smell that has escaped me for the last 22 years.
I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who has shared their story and words of encouragement, it has given me the strength and motivation to follow thru. For now though, I must go clean out our other DD and freshen it up and get rid of all the smoking stuff so that when I wake up in the morning there will be nothing to entice me back to the dark side....Peace!

I quit smoking 20 years Ago. I will soon have 30 years sober I have to admit quitting Smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done. I'd Give up SEX for the rest of my life rather then do that AGAIN. So next time you want a SMOKE >>>>>>> HAVE SEX INSTEAD I'm forever Great full for my life without Smokes or Booze. >>>>God Bless and Good luck Quitting
