If you're having mechanical trouble and need a daily driver, then yes, go for the GT. But let me ask you this, is two doors a must? You can probably find chargers, magnums, and 300Cs with the 5.7 hemi in that same price range from '05-'07. Maybe even for a little more get a 6.1 SRT, 425 hp/ 425 torque. The V8 challengers from '08 seem to still be going for $30k + though.
Now im being offered 4 door dodges! I know someone must really hate the mustang!

For me its just time for something newer that I can still afford. Like I said I would buy the camaro but its a rip off. Even the 2011 5.0 with 500miles is cheaper then a 2010 ss with 12k on it. It's sad. People will go for the cheaper car again soon. GM is making the same mistake they did with there F-bodys. It may one day result in the camaro being no more sadly enough. The only reason the camaro is out selling the mustang right now is because it just came back. People will go for the cheap sports car again

The only Mustang I would spend money on would be a 69 fastback or one of the new 2012 Shelbys... but If I had the money for one of those I would buy something Chevy anyways, just my preference.

To the OP, all I ever was trying to get at was to experience the V6 before dismissing it. Have fun whatever your decision is.
I see the mustang to look more muscle then the new camaro. The new camaro looks to luxury to me. Its to big. My z28 with the ss hood and grill removed looks meaner. Them cars look like there coming down the road with a big smile on there face. Vs when 4th gen Fbodys kind of had a mean looking face in the front. Only reason I wanted a new ss was because the performance. Look wise I really think GM should of put more thought into it. I know there is a link somewhere about it having one of the ugliest interiors of 2010. It might of been motor trend. Id have to find it... But it dont appeal to me as much as the newer mustangs. But I do think the new mustangs with the pointed back looks STUPID

Not bashing the Charger or 300, but I gotta chime in. The new Charger was a mistake, sure the SRT is quick, but come on Dodge, four doors?

Anyhow, we are on a Camaro site, yes, but you guys can't get offensive over V6 bashing and bash the Mustang, just saying.

To the OP, do what you wish with your money. If you want an SS, but cannot afford it yet, get the Mustang, but please remove that butt ugly hood. The Mustang has a lot of power when it is opened up, as do most vehicles out there. A cold air intake is a good investment, that's what we have on ours, then a supercharger will get you up to GT500 HP. Afterwards you can go and get your SS when the prices drop. I'm kind of in the same boat, but not looking to buy yet. So the options I am considering are Mustangs, and the V6 Camaro, I would like a Challenger but they are still expensive. You are buying American Muscle, as long as you aren't getting a Civic and putting 24 inch rims, buzzy-bee sound exhausts, Walmart window tint, and blacked out headlights with blue bulbs on it you are fine. Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers share the same thing, American, and that's what counts.

I think you'll probably get more of the replies you're looking for over on the mustang forum

Seriously though, I don't think the camaro is a ripoff. I think it's actually a fair price when you compare it to some of the other companies and see what they have in that price range.

Well your viable newer options outside of the mustang are the GTO, G8 GT, panther v8s, and Charger R/T. V8s are just coming back as far as viability within GM and Chrysler. The 4.6l mustang may have the note, but it'll take some capital to get it close to something less pedestrian than it's other big 3 counterparts. Imo, find a G8 for 25k and make it your own. Many 5th gen parts are supposedly interchangeable..

I don't think it was a mistake, but they should have offered a charger coupe... Camaro only sold 29 more in November than the charger and both outsold mustang..... Camaro wasn't an option, I have 3 kids and need to seat 5.... Otherwise Camaro would be an option

I was stunned by the new Charger when they first came out, I thought they looked really good even with 4 doors. But where I live it seems every soccer mom who doesn't want a minivan drives a V6 Charger. I just get sick of seeing the same car all the time.

But honestly, this wasn't the best place to have people convince you on the Mustang. Chevy/Ford competition runs deep and it's tough hearing someones going over to the other side..

It's your choice. We are just voicing our rationale as gm fans. Imagine the hell you'd get in a Holden/Ford argument in Aussie land... Think it's bad here? If you're gonna offload miss leaky 4th gen.. Do do in the 4th gen section; or part it out on ls1tech. You'd get a hell of a lot more in parts IMO..

Because you base performance on sound. Listen, i have nothing against mustangs, Believe it or not i was actually considering a mustang ant one point in my life. However, when you come to a CAMARO site and say a V6 CAMARO that produces the same amount of HP as V8 Mustang (late model) is less of a performance car then you must be daft. Or a troll. Different engines are used for different things. You understand that rally cars a V4's and Nascars are only allowed to be V8's? You do understand this correct? It isn't about the car, it's about you coming on to our site and disrespecting our members.
Also, if a V6 were just a cruiser... I WOULD HATE to drive a V8 that gets smoked by one! lol

EDIT: after reading more of your post i have found the answer you are looking for. YES get a mustang they are sooo great! All of us here wish we could have gotten one, we'd be so much more cool! Man i wish i was as smart as you to get on. :( Since, you know, all other cars are not true muscle cars That Better?

A new v6 camaro will not beat a GT. Me and others in this thread already went over this. And by seeing your so called *Mods* in your sig. Not one have them adds power. Also is a v6 camaro is not a true muscle car. I hope you don't think it is... Also I did not start the whole v6 bash thing. The LT Owners did when they came in talking this big game like they smack GT's around on the street. I will speak up for whats true

So you care what people would think about your engine selection and would rather have a 05-06 gt? You should mad insecure about yourself and maybe should invest that money In motivational courses instead of a new car.

BTW this guy is trolling and taking you all for a ride
