If this would come with the lt1, I would have a hard time between it, and camaro.

That's a pretty compelling reason for GM to NOT build it that way.

Seriously, talk about cannibalizing sales. Add AWD and this thing would probably dominate the coupe market

Very nice.

I am guessing $55k+ in usd if they build it.

Depends on what market they're trying to appeal to.

This car will appeal to a sporty..luxo-coupe market that the Camaro is too over the top, gaudy and "arrogant looking" for. This car would play say..in Europe, Asia and China better than the Camaro because it's more classy and international looking than the "American" looking Camaro.

Someone who wants a Camaro is going to get a Camaro..not a Buick. Now might it grab some uncommitted buyers? Yeah probably..but I suspect someone who likes the Camaro is going to get it.

+1 "Avista" sounds too soft.

Wow...fabulous looking car. For this segment, I think the TTV6 makes sense, although the sound of the LT1 V8 coming from this thing would send it through the roof....but I don't see it happening.

Love those wheels...anyone else notice they look very similar to the wheels on the "ZL1" tester? Polish up these wheels and they'd be very close:

That all glass roof is beautiful...that'd make an awesome production option if they could swing it.

I agree, but there is a catch.

While not using the LT1 as the top engines makes it easier to attract customers who wouldn't be buying the Camaro ... it would have the downside of bringing in potential ATS-V buyers, and thats potentially worse than stealing Camaro sales. For every Camaro SS sale lost to an Avista, GM would probably pocket an extra 10 grand. But for every ATS-V sale lost to the Avista they'd probably lose about 10 grand.

I don't mind the name. It sounds very Buick, fitting in with a lot of the names that they have used over the years. It has soft, flowing lines. Its classy, elegant -the way a good Buick should be. Putting a more aggressive or tougher sounding name wouldn't really make sense.

And if we want to be literal, a vista is defined by Merriam-Webster as:
  • a large and beautiful view of an area of land or water
  • a large number of things that may be possible in the future
  • a distant view through or along an avenue or opening
  • an extensive mental view (as over a stretch of time or a series of events)
So yes, this car is definitely a vista ... Avista
