Trick --- that engine swap is very cool. Would like to do that some day. One always questions their ability to complete all the details of such a project. I will have to try to find a copy of my third gen z28 convertible. It was black and mean looking. The engine was a pos compared to todays standards.

Good Friday morning. I managed to get up earlier this morning. I did not sleep all that well anyway. I'm already showered & having breakfast now. I think I better go see daddy today. Seems like he is declining quickly. Busy day at work first. HAGD everyone.

Really busy day. I got some of my notes done then headed to Clarksville to see daddy. He was a sleep for the first 30 min I was there. Resting well, breathing well, with oxygen on. His hands & feel looked a little swollen but his color looked good. My older sister was there too. Then the came in & got him up. We watched them change him. His skin looked good. He started coughing & clearing his throat some once he was up in his chair. It took a good bit to keep him awake & to get him to eat just a few bites. He had a hard time talking & did not try much but told both Judy & I "I love you too" when we left & told him we loved him. He managed a few other words. He is weak but looked better than I expected. Still I know that in addition to the pneumonia, his x-ray shows "multiple lesions mid-lung" that were not there just a month ago so that is just not good any way you slice it.

I still haven't been able to go around a turn wide open. The nannies should torque down the power, but before the tires even start to chirp I chicken out and let off. I have a hi way divide, speed limit around the curve is 45, and I'll hit 100 and the power still hasn't cut, so like I said I chicken out, every time and let off a little bit.

Sure gets the heart pumping.
It's an auto - I've had plenty of manuals in my time plus it's my wife's DD. She can drive a manual but with the traffic we have in Jacksonville an auto is the way to go.

On another note - One of my dealers rented the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta and invited me. The Porsche automatics have launch control just like the M6 on the ZL1. I did the launch control with a 911 Carrera and OMG I thought the ZL1 excellerated fast but the 911 is a rocketship!!! I was up to 130 in no time. I'll post some pics later.

Thanks John - I'm fairly mechanically inclined and do 90% of the maintenance on my vehicles and boats. But I'll have to admit I'm deeper into this project than I thought I ever imagined. I still believe I can do it but I may call Garage Squad soon!!!

Good Morning. I slept in some & made myself my healthy-ish Banana pancakes for breakfast. Than a few chores & now I need to finish my notes. Then I need to wash Pepper & a few more chores & I need to go through some old pics to find pics of my daddy for the slide show whenever the time comes. I don't want to be trying to deal with that when it is last minute. I just realized that dad being a vet he can have military honors and need to find out how you set that up too. Gotta get going. Have a good Saturday everyone.

That must of been a blast! One of these days we'll get to Vegas and try out "exotic racing" experience. Pretty decent prices to get behind the wheel of just about any Supercar made. Dozens of choices, top on my list is the Porsche 991 Turbo S, the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Audi R8, and the new Z06!

Plus I'll do the "ride along" with a pro drifting driver! Mostly just to watch how he works the controls.

Yeah Launch Control is fun, from that into the No Lift Shifting is Insane! It's just crazy even to think about it, put your foot to the floor and leave it floored. Sounds normal for an auto, but a manual, that's just mind blowing. My hubby likes to launch and he gives it like a six second count down, it does take a few seconds for the engine to settle into its optimum RPMs. As you launch you can feel the engine giving more and more power, very little wheel spin.

The one thing I don't like is whenever I'm at a stop and taking a left or right turn. I step on it and as I'm in the turn the ass end starts to come loose, the nannies just kill the engine, and if I hold the throttle it's like a bucking bronco. Power on/power off. Really jerky motion, but that's in Sport mode, which is what it's normally in. If I had it in Performance mode 4 or 5 it would probably spin the tires a lot more.

Yum yum yum, love Banana Pancakes! Try adding a big scoop of Protein to the mix, I use vanilla, actually makes them taste better.

Contact your local VA rep, they should be able to provide you all the info. Hope your dad is feeling better. Getting old is tough.

Mine are Bananas, instant oatmeal (dry), chopped walnuts, flax seed meal, cinnamon, eggs whisked with just a splash of milk, then when done drizzled with a bit of honey. My sister found my dad's discharge papers. I called the funeral home & they said that is all we would need.

I washed a very filthy Pepper & cleaned the inside a little (windows & a quick vacuum). She looks like a car again. Then I went through some old pics to find pics of daddy. I'm tired & I still have to finish up my notes from yesterday. Better get with it.

Good morning. I slept in again. It sure feels good but Monday morning will be hard again. I think it would have been the Korean War when he was in. He never ended up going over though. He had been trained & was supposed to go very soon but then his deployment was cancelled. Not sure if that was because of the time of the war ending or what happened.

I guess he went into the reserve after he came out of the army because the discharge letter says from the reserve & it is dated the year I was born. Daddy was out of the army & working as a civilian when he married my mother about 5 years before that.
