^ Thanks, that's the point. I run in the advanced group but when I see erratic drivers or organizers who don't enforce safety-related rules (i.e. black flagging ignorant wreckless racers), I volunteer to run instead in the intermediate group where point-by passing is mandatory. Just to lessen the risk per se.

And FYI... the GT3 and a few more lower-powered bimmers plus even a Miata had faster lap times than the out-of-control Z06 driver. Nuff said.

I haven't raced professionally in almost 20 years, but I would have bailed off the track if I saw that going on. I don't care if HE makes a pink ball out of himself on a wall, but I do care about people endangering others out of incompetent behavior.
He had NO idea how much he was risking because the computer was covering up his mistakes to an extent. Put that guy in a real race car without nannies and he would be on the news in a fiery crash.

Good to know he got kicked out....but I wonder (and doubt that was an instructor)....Pretty sad if it was...Looked more like a toady little passenger...

If he was an instructor he would have told him to exit after one lap...and how that guy ever got into an advanced group that didn't require point-bys is a mystery....Yep, that Vette driver is the type who ruins it for everybody and why you should buy track insurance...

I used to teach for PCA. No way that guy is a "real" instructor.
The helmets are kinda funny... we wore those when riding minibikes when I was a kid. At least they could have used them to scoop up the goo after the accident.

The z06 driver sucked.

The only thing the video proved is how capable the c7z06, even with a clown driving it, car can still boogie and "make you look good" down the track.

I think he actually did better when he was chasing the Porsche. If he got the boot then the guy in the Porsche should have too. Or they should have not left him out there all that time without bringing him in for a talking too. Everyone is giving him shit, but guess what? He was out there the entire time without crashing. Many of you say it's because of the cars nannies. I call bs on that. Hell GM's own engineers where crashing the basic stingrays before they came out. Many press days end in smashed up cars. Look at how many Z28's bit it so far. Luck or not, you have to give credit where credit is due. It wasn't pretty, but he didn't crash or hurt anyone else. I also didn't seem him make any moves that was very dangerous in a racing environment that the Porsche didn't do.
