And the Nismo beating the new 650S is WOW! That Jap rocket can boogie!

Then again Nissan stated the new Nismo version is all out balls out.... turbos kick in much much sooner with tremendous tons of boost. And the GT-R has a strong history performing very well at WSIR... I read that track is made for cars like the GT-R to exploit.

Love the Mc 650....

The vette was manual. I don't care who you are you're not going to out row a gtr on a road course. I wouldn't expect any manual 650hp rear wheel drive car to beat a 600hp gtr around a track

for the price difference I would have expected a larger time difference.

This^

If I ever had enough $ to own one of these cars, I would lean towards the GTR. Something about it has always appealed to me.

I seriously considered a GT-R Black Edition last summer but they're still priced at near 110K and even with some dealer discounts, it's still at the 100K mark. Doable, for me, but when I compared it to a Z06 that starts at 78K then personally it was a smarter logical & financial decision. Now this Nismo starts at 150K if you can even find one... a superbeast for sure but too much coin IMO. At that pricepoint, might as well shoot higher for even more exclusive exotics... so when is enough enough?

I see a lot of gtr's around here, they just don't look the part, nothing attention grabbing about them. I wanted one bad when they first came out, and they are definitely no joke when it comes to performance. The interior though, is just horrible, its like no thought was put into it.

Add the $13,000 Titanium exhaust...

Better yet, just wait until the new R36 comes out... beast mode x2!

I admit I was surprised by this outcome, but I would choose the Vette over the GTR. One of the reasons I like my car is that I have to be engaged fully with what is going on to get the most out of it. I do not think it is a great thing that the Nissan is so easy to drive that Randy could take a hand off the wheel. Yes its neat that you can do that, and no doubt the car inspires confidence in the driver, but perhaps it instills too much.

The Vette would be rewarding to someone who was truly able to wrestle the beast and get good laps out of it. Another thing I like about the Vette is being able to turn the traction and stability to whatever level you want. If you're new to track driving, leave it in the safest setting. Getting the hang of it? Turn it down a notch and try again. Go a step too far? turn the system back up a little. The Vette will go a long way with you and help you along in ways the Nissan never will. In the GTR I would always wonder in my head, "Am I really doing this well, or is the car doing it for me?"

Plus the Vette sounds AWESOME!
