Thats not happening but what Ford did with pulling out of NHRA was a bad move.

They didn't pull out fully, they're still involved in the Sportsman levels (The Cobra Jet program). What they did do is drop the Top Fuel sponsorships

But I do still think they should have been involved in TF. I am unsure if they're still in with ProStock. I know they still ..I should say I think Ford still offers sponsorships in Top Sportsman, Comp and Comp Eliminator

I will never understand why they let John go. I think they should have stayed in NHRA full time and dropped nascar because they suck in nascar except for Penske Fords.

It's a simple matter of best bang for the buck. Ford is using it's advertising dollars in venues where it thinks it will get the best return. I seriously doubt that seeing a John Force car gets you in the mood for a new Focus. Sportsman class is more apt to attract and keep customers because they can see themselves in these cars and the Ford Racing aftermarket parts.

They're all variations of the same basic motor architecture. TF motors are all Hemi's with some "brand" variations. When the "Top Fuel Boss" motor was unveiled people were crowing about it being a Ford motor, and it did have Ford components in it...like rod / crank bearings.

Otherwise they're all Chrysler based, 500ci aluminum Hemi's

Exactly.

Take the Cobra Jets for example. They're Mustangs, plain and simple. People see them burn down 8's and 9's in the 1/4 and then can walk out to their Mustang GT, which is essentially the same car, and drive home.

Same thing with the COPO Camaro program and the Challenger Drag Pack.

There is nothing remotely street car about Funny Cars. They're a carbon fiber shell using a Chrysler motor, clutch pack transmission into a Ford based rear end. But..they do have Ford/Chevy/Mopar stickers, right?

They'll be Hemi's with some Chevy minor components but will not be a Chevy design at its core
