Agree 100%....a Hellcat Challenger will not take a Z06 - there is a 1300 LB weight disadvantage here.....but it will still be fun to see.

If I weren't married my order would have been in for a 2015 Z06 instead of a 2015 Hellcat Challenger - but the car also has to serve as my daily driver too.

Challenger HELLCATS quicker than 11.2 on OEM rubber? LESS than a sure bet.

Side-by-side, on equally prepped or unprepped tracks on OEM rubber and OEM tune, I predict the Automatic Z06 will annihilate Challenger Hellcats by MORE than the 3/10ths each manufacturer has claimed their respective cars will run.

(EDIT: And the "real world" difference when each has a THIRD PEDAL, fully OE, will be even more astronomical!)

And Automatic Z06s will regularly outrun Charger Hellcats under similar circumstances, OEM-equipped and -tuned. PERIOD. Could there be "exceptions"? Yes, when Pete Biondo drives the Charger, and Elmer Fudd guides the Vette.

I accept PayPal.
Joe... I'll take the Z06 for $1000.

No "jeopardy" in that bid, Mr. Trebek.

Or you can just keep reading the magazines because we all know they are always right.
The real life data on the Z06 is in the Z06 vs Viper TA post. Major problems with heat soak during brief full throttle runs, the Viper walked it.

I see the Hellcat beating the Z06 on the race track right now if the Vette has to do more than 3-4 laps (unless GM solves the overheating)

I guess the Hellcat has a better engine than the Vette with better Cooling

Wow the only thing I've gotten out of this post is that

Z06> any car ever made!

All auto manufactures lie and deceive about their products. Except GM they never do that!

Also that MEDISIN reads a lot of magazines.

I wouldn't be too quick to declare that. We have not seen how the Hellcat handles repeated max effort laps in regards to cooling and heatsoak.

Heatsoak is an issue that WILL cause a problem with both cars when they're being run hard. Dodge has said the Hellcat will remain at prime operating temps for only 20 minutes when run hard with it's current cooling systems.

The LT4 is a hell of a mill, but it did have design requirements to fit under the C7's hood, as well as others, which resulted in design compromises. The Hellcat twins, both being blessed with more room but cursed with a compromised and heavy platform, had more room to work with.

I do agree that heat is an issue and that the Hellcat does benefit from a bigger engine bay, I have seen a lot of info on the Hellcat (both) and many of the pre production cars have been flogged with no issues so far. Now that people have them I guess we will get that info soon on any issues that may come up. With the Z06 I didn't know that there was an issue until I started reading the comments for that video, then to find that one overheated while at the track looks to confirm that there could be an issue for people that are going to push the Vette hard. I have not seen any comments from GM that the cooling is good for a certain time around the track, but you would have thought that GM had covered all their bases when they put it together.

Hey, do you have a link or remember where you saw this about Dodge's claim of 20 minutes?

I saw a thing (internally) that the engineers claim the cooling is good enough on the HellCat that it won't heat soak. I cringed when I read it. Bullshit. You simply can't defy physics. The truth will be served up soon enough.

It says "even after 20 min" which I kind of read as "but beyond that you might have some real problems".
