I tended to dismiss that (rarely heard) rumour as wishful thinking. The question was nearly always twin turbo V6 or naturally aspirated V8. Turns out its a twin turbo V6 with 450 hp.

I agree. It makes no sense to have an ATS-V and V+ when they could have just made the LF3 ATS the Vsport like it is for the CTS and XTS.

Like it a lot. I would also love to hear it just cruising at a low to mid rpm as well as I bet it has a nice growl to it at those speeds as well.

I just noticed that I had failed to notice the '+' after the V in DenverTaco's post. I thought he was just talking about the 'regular' V. The gist of my post still stands though, more or less.

Is chevy ever going to update the 6.0 litre V8 in the 2500 pickups. I can't figure out why they still make it when they have the 6.2 which is more fuel efficient more powerful overall much better engine. Only 2 things I can think of would be cost but really how much more could it cost to make the 6.2 , or they just are saving the 6.2 for their premium trucks and SUV's.

HD trucks are on a different product cycle than the light duties so powertrain updates won't come until 2016ish.

yeah wasn't sure was just messing around building trucks other night to check out price Colorado/silverado 1500/2500/3500. and was amazed that 2015 2500 base engine is still the same 6.0 that we have at our shop in a 2004 2500. That is a long time with near little update and they did a major refresh few years ago thought they would have addressed it but I guess then ford still had the 5.4 as base engine so why bother.

As in MY 2016? Or 2016 as in MY 2017? Any substantive rumors on the next-gen Duramax?
