A little send-up for the Champion
Looking through old images I have in my photobucket account.
How's this for a podium? Left to right, Graham Hill, Jimmy Clark, Dan Gurney, 1965 German Grand Prix. Clark with the Laurels, getting a send-up from #2 Hill and #3 Gurney, Hill and Gurney having a little fun at the winner's expense.

I went from that to drag racing big daddy Don.. to NASCAR today.. anyways I find it interesting gurney drove for the wood brothers under 48 white n blue. the same current colors Jimmy Johnson. interesting guy wide driving experience..

Foyt and Gurney were co-drivers at Le Mans, 1967, GT40 MKIV. They won. Did you know, Gurney started the tradition of spraying champgane into the crowd? he did that at Le Mans, '67.
Gurney was friends with my other racing hero, Jimmy Clark. Gurney could have been winner in a more F1 races if he didn't screw around with his cars so much. So many DNFs and last-minute adjustments in F1. He really liked F1. Good ambassador for the USA in Grand Prix racing. Bruce McLaren drove for his team in F1. But Gurney was stellar in Sports Prototype. He also won the NASCAR Winston Western 500 four times in a row.
