For the GT? That would be impressive.

unless they find a way to produce A LOT more torque out of the 5.0, it will have to rev to like 8000 rpm + to get to 500 hp. that's all forged bottom end material. that's more $$$ especially on a higher production model like a regular GT.

They can, it will take bigger lift cams and more revs, I can see 8k rpm with a beefier bottom end. Hell, you can get 500 right now with stage 2 cams, cj intake, and a few other boltons. Dont take much to wake the coyote. In stock form, the coyote is anemic imo (its still fast but.....). It BEGS to be tuned, bolted on, you get my point.

It's still lighter than the Challenger's and Camaro's so are you also calling them PIGS?

Still looks like a Mustang. Here's the low flow special edition with a stripe delete option.

I'm sure the gen1.5 5.0 will rev pretty high. The introduction of IMRC's will assist in low end torque production. Honestly, I don't expect the 2015 to break 450. There's no need, it'll sell on the merits of being "all new" alone. It only gained <90lbs, and that's on an improved chassis so performance in all metrics WILL improve.

Once the LT1/Alpha Camaro hits the streets then Ford can pull the stops and shoot to out HP the LT1 with a true gen2 5.0, possibly equipped with DI.

To the point of it costing more to put a more capable rotating assembly in the mass produced GT; increasing the production amount can and does have the effect of lowering costs do to having a much higher buy. Think about it, no company pays what we pay for things like forged rotating assemblies...because we're not buying enough to outfit thousands of cars. Basically, it's like buying in bulk.

Ford already said the '15 motor will not have its redline raised so 500hp is out of the question with the new parts added I see 440-455 easily attainable.

I am hoping for at least 350 out of the 2.3 turbo model that is very held back by the factory tune. IN my mind the power should like this 300 or whatever the current V6 hp number is 350hp&tq for the turbo 2.3 and 450 to 465 for the GT 5.0 so that way there is big enough gaps in performance to justify charging more for the turbo 4 over the V6

I've stated a couple times that this seems most likely:

However, since the US doesn't have any regulations prohibiting the advertisement of temporary output figures like the Europeans do; we'll see advertised numbers attained within the Ecoboost's "overboost" feature, which provides an uptick of about 7-8%. Most likely in the 330-340hp range.

And this was before the newest trickle of info that the new 2.3 output is "over" 310, instead of the previous 305+ we've all heard.
