Proper form is somewhat subjective as well. Other than genetic defects or abnormalities in body construction we all have the same bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc. but they are not all the same as far as size or structure or how they are attached to the skeleton. For this reason what may be proper and safe for one may be slightly different than for another but in general it should be the same. Also something that is important is that powerlifters and body builders train differently and use variations in form, Body builders tend to use what some would consider proper form more than powerlifters. A powerlifters goal is to move as much weight as possible so by varying form you can utilize more muscle groups to move the weight rather than targeting a specific muscle to define and shape it.

Anyhow, have you ever said something that you thought was perfectly fine until it came out and then it created an awkward situation?
It seems I do to often and today was one of them. lol. I had my first appointment with a physical therapist today to try to get a handle on my shoulder pain. She was kind of young and cute but a little on the chunky side. After chatting and getting a history of my many injuries and current problem she moved on to the exam and asked me to remove my shirt, as I started to comply I stupidly said, I'm kind of embarrassed, I haven't been working out for a while, between the recent hernia repair and now my shoulder I've been out of the gym but didn't want to loose muscle so haven't cut cals and it shows. She graciously replied, don't worry you look good.
It then hit me like a rock, her belly was bigger than mine. Perhaps it was nothing to her but man I felt like a dummy.

I think she did, perhaps not. I find it troublesome when health care providers deal with injuries and related health issues many which are directly related to obesity, preach weight loss yet are in the said category themselves.

Regardless she did seem knowledgeable in her field and has been the only one ,so far, that has given me a comprehensive evaluation. It seems that the issue is severe tendonitis, there is significant swelling and because of my type of work it is constantly being aggrevated, plus the fact ive been abusing this body for many years.

Someday I'll accept the fact that I'm no longer a spring chicken and these issues are to be expected but not yet. Lol.

I haven't yet but it gets more and more difficult with every injury especially when everyone keeps telling me I'm getting old, then again, that's most likely the reason I keep pushing so hard. I can be a stubborn prick, lol

A little something to help pass some time. I've been a member of BBR for quite a while, the owner, Will Brink also is the owner of The Brink Zone and often sends these little tid bits of info. This one is on high protein diets. For those that followed the weight loss threads you may have noticed I often say Always Eat Your Protein. Some argue that Fat Loss comes down to cals in vs cals out and it sometimes creates discussions because I don't agree. This will help clearify why if anyone is interested.

3 weeks ago spent the week organizing for the yard sale and having it on Friday and Saturday....

Last week I spent detailing the car....

Got Monique her first pair of squat briefs in her size. Looking for bigger numbers soon!

What Idid too help was voltaren gel a few times a day. And stopped doing reps withheavy weight and cut it down to doubles and singles. I also brought my grip in a couple inches. On shoulder day I went lighter for weeks and treated it like a rehab session. Close grip bench didn't bother it though. Curls did, so again I went lighter abd increased reps and shortened rest period. Advice all that, when I started to really hurt I called it a day and went home. Oh and I also used mobility wraps and stretches a few times.
Thank you caper, I have been working around it the past week and it's helping, I've done DB bench instead of barbell which helps as well as some shoulder mobility work, face pulls, stretching and just lowering the weight focusing more on range of motion and reps instead of such heavy weight.

Quads and Chest yesterday went well, set a PR on squats. got 275 x 6 getting at least parallel @ 170 lbs. Nothing impressive, but with my back injury I never really squatted until the past year, and really never learned to properly squat until the last few months and have seen tremendous progress. Hoping to get 315 x 6 by December at least.
