That's a terrible comparison. Speeding isn't an issue of civil rights.

I agree the limits are too low in many areas but if you break them, you're still getting pulled over, and it'll still be your own damn fault. Simple as that.

The ONLY two times I've heard of people getting stopped were: dude doing 104 on the off ramp and the other blew through the bean counters (USBP traffic inspection) doing 70!
Going 100mph? Truck was going 97 but tops out at 98? A guy going on a on ramp doing 104?! Just curious as to why you would do those speeds in the first place.

They were not a comparison of similarities but a example of something much larger much more important that they cant get right. they were examples that show the ridiculousness of the laws and the men who set them. Then I am supposed to trust them on the small thinks. Speed limits are set buy insurance company's (large campaign contributions) and the studies insurance companies pay for not by any logic and reason or the laws of physics. A 12 Wheel Straight truck (running a tag axle) can weigh 77,000 pounds and he and I have the same speed limit. In what world is that logical. So yes I side with someone who gets a ticket for 5-20 MPH over the speed limit depending on the road conditions and the traffic conditions. We have the technology to put signs up telling us there is a construction zone and the speeding fines are doubled. Yet we cant change highway speed signs to digital so that the speed limits can be adjusted to the conditions.
I my self stay 5-7 MPH over because that is what you can usually get away with around my area with out getting a ticket. But I understand the frustration of a people who get a ticket when they are going with the flow of traffic at a reasonable speed for the conditions.

Where I live they pull you over for doing 5 over. My ex husband got pulled over and a $130 ticket for doing 31 in a 30, no lie. In Florida they are more lenient. I use to live in Brandon, suburb of Tampa and unless you were going 15 over they wouldn't even look at you. Smaller towns are stricter. Sux for the OP but you gotta pay to play. I got busted in Indy last year after leaving a car show going with the flow of traffic at 85 in 65. I paid my ticket and went on about my day. Yea he picked me outta the line up but oh well, it is what it is. What made it worse is he was in a new Mustang

Lmao I should've!!! The crazy part is he had to dodge and weave around tons of traffic to get me. I saw him coming to get me several cars back but by then he already had me tagged (my fiance was a cop so I know how it works) but he's racing (no lights or sirens) to catch up to me when I'm in the middle of a pack going 85. Yea he totally sought me out.

Less than a week after getting my car I received a ticket for going 73 in a 55. I had my cruise control on 65, and I was being passed by a silver Nissan and that's who I'm sure he clocked.
One of the things about having an attention getting car, I suppose.

The signs in Florida (at least through Orlando) ARE digital and change according to road conditions.

Again, if you get pulled over for speeding, it's your own damn fault.

I have never seem a digital speed sign here. I bet you have never seen yours go above the old speed limit, only below for traffic and weather and work zones. I bet there are times its lower and you cant figure out why because there is nothing at all wrong.

Again, if you get pulled over for speeding, it's your own damn fault.
and for a lot of people being on unemployment, welfare or SSI Disability is there own damn fault and what the same government does is fine them too. No wait that's wrong the leave them alone. Nope not that either they send them checks in the mail.
