Was this on 17 out by 92? It goes from 55 to 45 pretty quick but I've never been pulled over.

Then again every time I go through Winter Haven I have state plates.

Near Haines City and Auburndale, don't speed there.

No kidding. It doesn't matter if you were "going with the flow", you were speeding and you're upset even after he cut you a huge break. Man up and accept it. (no offense intended)

Yeah. In the end, you were speeding. Doesn't matter if you saw the sign or not, you're supposed to be paying attention to that.

The title of your thread makes no sense. Don't break the law and you'll won't get into trouble. It has nothing to do with the type of car you are driving. I never get bothered in my Camaro by cops. Most cops I run into want to see my car.

Just because you are going college doesn't mean that you shouldn't have to pay the piper if you break the law. If I was going to school and funds were tight, I would be paying more attention on the roads, so that I would haven't to pay up when doing something wrong.

a month of owning the car. pulled out and passed a guy cop pulls me over claims i was doing 110 km/h in a 70. I was in third gear, I told him that there was no way maybe 20 over tops. guy gets mad at that comment, says it looked like I was racing the all stock Honda civic that I passed. threatened to throw me in a jail 3 times and claimed that I was on dash cam and been recorded. After all that I knew there was nothing that I could say anymore either way he was in for me. Even tried to give me a ticket for low tire tread even though I still wasn't on the treadwear indicators and had tires on order. Hits me with careless driving (the most severe charge under the highway traffic act up here in Canada) which would cause my insurance to double and consequently would have had to sell my car. I hire hire a lawyer since I'm scared even though I really did nothing wrong. was too afraid of losing in court by myself. get to court cop has no evidence against me, no dash cam, no recording, judge couldn't believe someone would actually give out a ticket for low treadwear. All charges were dropped. I knew they would be, but couldn't believe that I had to go through all that because I drive a shiny sports car and passed someone less aggressively than the soccer mom driving at minivan full of kids that now passes me on the highway cause I don't feel like getting hassled again.

moral of my story, don't do anything illegal but more importantly if your doing something that is close to it they won't let it go if your car is "fast"

Whats the difference between driving to fast and Street racing. What ever the cops decide it is.

Oh man I belong in jail I drive 5-7 MPH over the speed limit 50 percent of the time I drive. Me and 90 percent of American's, or are the speed limits in a lot of areas ridiculously low. These are not your Grandpa's cars the are as safe at 75-85 MPH as the cars from the 60's were at 55 MPH.

Agreed, but it's still illegal. Like I said, I speed all the time but I know full well I'll pay for it if I'm caught.

That's really not the ridiculous part. I don't know the legal details, but from what I've heard the bad part is the cop can say you were racing if your tires bark at all and pretty much it's next to impossible to prove otherwise. And then yeah, they'll crush your car. I don't complain about the law in Fl much, but that one is rough.

And it used to be illegal for women and Black people to vote. It's still illegal in most states for a gay couple to get married. Just because its illegal doesn't make it right. Just because some have wit local politician or appointed official makes something illegal doesn't make it correct.
