Correct. Certain moving violations will yield higher points (Speeding, running red light, improper lane change, etc.). Non-moving violations will not yield any points added to your license (noise violations, improper equipment, etc.).

California would make speeding a felony offense if they could.

it is a 2 point misdemeanor if you are 25 over posted or any triple digit speeds.. But either can be enhanced to a felony if you are also involved in a speed contest AND/OR someone is injured as a result of the speed.

triple digits can also result in an immediate impound and seizure of the vehicle if the officer so chooses..

I would take the class if you can do it from home. If not, pay the ticket and enjoy the piece of mind.
AZ has vans they park along side of the freeway with antenna/camera. They move them around but the 9500 still picks up the radar and will save you.

Screw it. I paid it. Wasn't happy about it but I could spend hours figuring a way out or just cough up the money and understand if I'm in a city I've never been to- realize they may have CAMERAS on me while driving. =\

Luckily we're not there in Dallas yet. Only red light cameras here and there.

I was under the impression they couldnt give camera tickets to out of state citizens. I was flashed up in Az and never got the ticket.

You're out of state. If I was out of state I would have ignored it and if anyone asked, it must have gotten lost in the mail.

Also check the state laws. Most states say that for a ticket to be valid an officer of the law has to witness the event and physically hand you the ticket. I've seen numerous red light and speeding tickets thrown out because of this and also because you have the right to face your accuser and with a automated camera ticket you do not have an accuser to swear in court that the event took place.

You should have taken a picture of monopoly and sent it back to them. If they don't want to put a real cop there, they don't deserve real money.

I'm not 100% sure of speed cameras, but tickets from red light cams aren't assessed points for this reason. Only a ticket and fine(s) go to the registered owner.

Biggest problem, he was in a rental car. The rental company has the right to charge tickets to your credit card they have on file. Should be in the contract if you look close enough you will find it.
