I wouldn't even put the Aztek on that list. Don't get me wrong, I hate that abomination. But that is only because of its terrible, awkward styling. But the rest of the vehicle (despite what they claimed in that write up) isn't too bad. They do what they're supposed to do fairly well; are pretty competent in terms of the bascs like powertrain, ride and handling; and (to my knowledge) are fairly reliable. Basically, the only thing wrong with them is that they're unbelievably ugly. Overall though, they're not really any worse than most of GM's other offerings at the time. Thats not enough to claim that its one of the 10 worst cars of all time, from around the world -let alone giving it the #1 spot. And lets not forget that the basic idea behind the Aztek has been copied by nearly every automaker in the last decade (it was, after all, the predecessor to what we now know as 'crossovers')

The Volt is actually a great car. Yes it's pricy but over time that will change. The Aztec while clearly a horrible match for Pontiac and oddly styled actually wasn't a horrible car. Ugly perhaps but functionally the car was fine.

Poor Pontiac. :(

People hate on the Aztek constantly but it did help spawn what is arguably one of GM's biggest and most successful markets: crossovers.

The Volt I would say no. While it is a sales failure, the car itself is well reviewed and people who have them generally seem to like them. The Aztec was ugly as sin and deserves that top spot. I remember seeing on the first ones in East Lansing and couldn't believe that it was actually something from the factory.

A couple more GM offering come to mind though when it comes to all time GM failures:

Chevrolet Chevette - Even the name seems to suggest it would rust on the show room floor.....
Pontiac Fiero - Underpowered and unreliable.....

Chevrolet Corvair - All the safety myths and regulations this car spawned.....

I don't know why people are giving the Volt so much S#!+ It costs about the same as every other plugin electric out there... +/- a few thousand... And on top of that it has a decent range unlike most other electric cars...

I agree that it would probably have sold more if they marketed it as a Cadillac BTS (B is for Battery

But either way, there's really nothing wrong with the car and people need to stop listening to media hype and take a look at the car for yourself before really judging it.

+1 on the volt for not being on the list.

Base msrp volt rounded up to 40k. -7500 tax credit off the top at the time of sale = 32,500. Many states have further incentives. As of 2011, the average price of a new vehicle sale is 30k.

Currently 0% for 60 months. An equally equipped Prius is well over 30k.

Also, I've driven both. IMO the volt is a technological marvel and oozes better quality than the Prius.

I've also heard whispers/rumors of a possible price drop this summer...

Wait, I thought this car was cancelled or was that due to bankruptcy reorg? I saw it at the DC Autoshow a few years back.

GM needs to throw Voltec in a Cadillac and Buick ASAP if the suppliers can keep up with the hardware requirements.
