Camaro Marketing manager interview

I was approached by General Motors today with an interesting opportunity. I will be conducting an interview with John Fitzpatrick, the Camaro Marketing Manager.

I work for a number of other Camaro and GM related sites as an administrator for a number of years and from time to time I get contacted by friends at GM for these opportunities. Some sites include Camaroforums, chevroletforum and truckforums. Each of which have a facebook page as well if you would like to "LIKE" and post on them with your questions.

If theres any questions you would like me to ask, please post them. I'll be putting this on a bunch of the sites I frequent.
Thanks for your help

Well If anyone is interested (I didnt get a single response) I did go ahead and do a short Q&A with John about a month ago. We agreed to do another one within the next few months. If anyone would like to read, you can PM me for the link or if an admin would like to post it contact me and I will forward it to you.

Like I said in the above post back in August I Admin on a bunch of sites owned by Internet Brands so GM set it up for me to talk to him

I'd like to hear Chevrolet's take on offering a clear bra, as either standard or an option on the Camaro. I'm talking the entire front fascia, a section along the hood, all along the lower part of the rocker panels and possibly the gill area on the quarters. If you drive these cars even in perfect conditions all these areas eventually experience paint chips.

It simply wont happen. They need to have the paint cure before apllication. Also it takes time even for an experienced installer (I do this for a living and after 60-70 Camaros it still takes me 3 hours for that coverage) to do these... and when we are talking about thousands of cars a year being produced, well there arent enough installers to go up to Canada and install them. Remember your car is made all by robots... there are only two steps in the car that involve people doing a task. And to hire Union labor to install film... LMAO That will never happen.

The only way to do it is have GM offer it at the dealer level... but that would still mean that EVERY dealer has to have an installer. Again there arent that many installers to go around. Let me rephrase that, there arent enough GOOD installers to go around.

I would ask: The camaro has done exceptionally well in crash testing. Are there things that gm was plesently surprised to find in this new boby style that they feel fundamentally made this car strong. Does the body style and the safety tech represent a breakthrough in safety for gm, did the tests exceed your expectations? What about the camaro will we likely see gm use on other cars in order to match that level....? And is the extra weight in any way associated with the level of safety achieved? Why isn't the safety angle more of a sales point? Does GM realize this is a way to break peoples misconceptions about sports coupes and safety?
