Magnuson 2300 used availiblity
Hello all,
Hope you're doing well today. I'm looking to eventually pick up a SC and I know that a 2300 would be perfect for what kind of power I'm looking for. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could source a used one? I've reached out to superchargers online and ADM performance. ADM performance occasionally has 2300 kits but they're more expensive than a 2650/3.0 and superchargers online has told me to reach out to ADM as they do not have any. I'm also keeping my eyes open on e-bay as well but no luck so far. I will eventually post something in the for sale section however, I'm not looking to pull the trigger quite yet as I'm just trying to do my research for availability first and actually build out my bottom end to handle what I want so I don't end up grenading my engine. Any discussion on this is welcome (or convince me to go a different path as well ) Best, J |

They come up for sale on the LT specific Facebook pages somewhat often. I've seen them for as little as $3,000.

Why not just buy a ported LT4 supercharger? It will be damn close to a 2300's capability. I see them come up for sale often for around 2500.00.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm asking these questions because I want to educate myself on this. Wouldn't porting the supercharger and spinning it harder to equal the same power of the 2300 add more heat? Heat management is definitely something I'm considering.

I am trying to make ~600-650. Don't really plan to do a lot of 1/4th mile stuff but do plan to autocross and road course. Most of the time it's going to be a DD though, only plan to track it maybe one a month to once every other month. The main reasoning I wanted a 2300 is because I could spin it slower than the 1740 and make the kind of power I want to help manage the heat. I can easily be convinced to go the 1740 route though if heat soak with my goals isn't an issue.

650RWHP is well within the capability of the OEM LT4 supercharger. At that power level the LT4 supercharger will be faster than the 2300 or 2650 due to the power delivery.

If you want it to live I would HIGHLY recommend you upgrade the fuel system so that you can run E85. |

Either way 600-650whp is a walk in the park for a LT4 supercharger. I don't see a reason to go with anything else at that power level. If you have a SS, I would put a larger pulley(2.7) on standard port LT4 sc, upgrade fuel system, and run Ethanol...E50-60 or more if the fuel system can keep up. If you do port injection, full pump E won't be a problem. If you do LT4 fueling, you will be blending to E50.

I definitely plan to build out the engine before I add any type of boost, but thanks for looking out. |

There isn't any need to build the engine for 600-650whp. I have been running 9-11 psi since 2019 on my stock internal LT1 and it's been fine. Keep it under 600whp on 93, or under 750whp on E50+. Also you want a catch can and proper crank case ventilation.

I guess I should chime in here with some information. You can go back and read many of my posts on my 2022 Lt1/A10 where I made 707/669 with a 2300 used Maggie from Superchargersonline and TooHighPsi port injection, Rotofab CAI little gulp, that was on 11 lbs of boost, ran 9.80@142.96 with that combo. It made 632/559 on 8 psi of boost and ran 10.34@135 on that combo with E75. That was on the stock Lt1 fuel system and JMS boost a pump for a little help on the lowside. You'll have a hard time finding a 2300, I got lucky and latched onto the last one the SCOL had. I agree with King, put a stock Lt4 on it, I'd add the TooHighPsi port and you can easily make your goal and not spend thousands on a fuel system. Mike Sitar, the owner of THPSI took his 2650 to pass emissions and do testing with the Lt4 SC and he really likes it, hauls ass and it's a bone stock Lt4 SC. He has a 2016 or 2017 Z06. You can buy an Lt4 for 2000.00 to 2500.00 usually. Seen a couple on FB recently.
