Meeting Mr. Oppenheiser
Can anyone tell me anything about Al’s schedule?
I live in Arizona and it seems as if most of the events he goes to are in and Around the Midwest. I would very much like to meet him and talk for just a few minutes about Camaro related issues. Someone mentioned that they met him at Barrett Jackson one year which would be great for me. But still knowing a date and time would be really helpful. Does anyone have any ideas on this issue? If so......thanks much. |

What issues did you want to discuss? If others are also interested, we can get the question submitted to him and the Camaro engineering team!

1. What does he think the future of the n/a v8 engine is in the Camaro? I am thinking that getting a Camaro with the n/a v8 is important right Now before that engine goes away. Such as an SS or 1LE. Such as before the Next version of the car comes out. I need to get one ASAP before that Happens? 2. Electric versions of the car? I very much dislike the idea of an electronic Camaro. While I know he cannot discuss future product, still I’d like to Hear his take on the future of such cars in the upcoming years since we All know it’s coming either way. 3. Have more but don’t know if I am boring the readership with my stuff? Should I continue? Thx for letting air these couple of thoughts. |

I think it’s important for the brand to not lose sight of what the Camaro IS, and always has been.....a muscle/sports car. Moving away from an ICE to hybrid or electric power train should be reserved for GMs economical and commuter car lines. Not trucks. Not performance/sports/muscle Cars. It would be interesting to hear the Camaro teams take on this subject. (In more detail than the recently released poll asking about Engine options) |

Ethel19, as far as your questions & their suitability for the section, you have to keep in mind that Al doesn't set policy for GM. And he can't discus future product plans. With your questions, there are kinda only two scenarios. Either his opinions are in line with what GM wants to do, or they aren't. If they are, he won't be able to discuss future product plans. If they aren't, its probably in his own best interest to not go out and put those thoughts on the record. Either way, we probably don't get to hear much from him. It would be nice to hear some off the cuff remarks from Al about that stuff though.
