It says "might not be what you expect". Only way that would be true is if it were a 2 door gas sports car. Im pretty sure all of us expect an SUV/crossover of some flavor.

Interesting...

I've stated as early as Dec 2024 that I thought a GEN7 ICE Camaro would happen and the new LS6 would make an awesome engine option, however I'll wait for the official announcement.

I would be very happy to be wrong.

Article says it will be built on the Alpha 2 platform. It is likely replacing the CT4 on the Lansing assembly line. In all likelihood, it'll be on a passenger car platform, not a CUV.

Set to ride on the rear-drive Alpha 2 platform, the next-gen Camaro is set currently scheduled to enter production in late 2027 at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, meaning that should go on sale as a 2028 model. The facility assembled the last-generation Camaro, and currently produces the Cadillac CT4 (which will soon be discontinued) and Cadillac CT5. The plant will also manufacture the next-generation CT5, confirmed by GM in October 2025, as well as an upcoming Buick sedan, which GM Authority exclusively told you was coming last month.
That sounds promising!

It was a joke (well, partially at least).

Don't get your hopes up. Crossovers fit on sedan chassis too.
