Center Cap that doesn't spin like on Rolls Royce
The cap on the wheels on the Rolls Royce Phanton don't spin when the wheel is spinning so it is always right side up now matter what position the wheel is in. I saw a mercedes with the same cap on the freeway last week and want to get it for my dad's mercedes. Does anyone know what this is called or where I can find info on in? Thanks a lot

I saw that as well, they do move a little but not all the way over, kind of like a boat rocking back and forth.
No idea where to look into it.

It rides on a little ball bearing and is weighted on the bottom to keep it pointing in one direction. Not rocket science. I would be shocked if this hasn't already been done back decades ago.

They make spinners like that where the spinner just stays in place while the rim spins. That's what started the whole "skating" on blades slang came from.
As for the center caps that don't spin, try googling "weighted center caps" or something. |

The rims that do this are called Floaters.
As for just the center cap doing this.

Center caps that do this have the same name. Its something that has been around for years, but just within the last 5-10 years has become stylized. Semi-trailers have had wheel censors on the center that have weight readings on them, they are floaters as well. When RR started using them in their rims, they became more popular.
