Bought An Old School Muscle Car

Ok so about a month ago I decided to pick up a 1970 Olds 442 W30.
I think I've been looking for over a year for something special that would be unique and rare. One night I'm looking around on the old innerweb and there it was. After a month of back and forth, the owner and I finally agreed on a number. My Dad and I hooked up a trailer and headed East to pick up my new ride. I love the color combo and I'm looking forward to playing with it this winter! Name: IMG_3174.jpg

Wow. Nice! That car is mint. I'm not a collector, so excuse the ignorance. The 442 is very rare. How does it ride? That first picture really shows off the car. It looks museum quality.

I grew up in an Oldsmobile house. My dad restored Oldsmobiles and we were in all the big clubs; OCA, NAOC, AACA, etc...

I'm not much of a red car fan, but that is a sharp car. The Hurst/Olds emblem is incorrect. The Hurst/Olds debuted in 1968 and all were silver & black. In 1969 they were gold & white. There was no Hurst model offered in 1970.

It has the correct red plastic fender liners.

Here a link to Oldsmobile engine colors:

Not sure what you plan to do to that car, it looks like a concourse show ready car. If it’s a real W30, than it’s pretty rare. Nothing like old school muscle.

Very nice!

My brothers were 442 guys so many were parked in our driveway when I was in high school and after. 66, 69 vert, 70 W30 and a 75 that was your same color combo.

Crazy memory is of a high school classmate that had a mint condition, maroon and white 70 442 with a supercharger sticking out of the dual snorkel hood and craiger SS rim. That was my sophomore year in 1979

I'm really starting to crave a old school ride again and would love your car even though I was a Pontiac/Chevy man all my life

This one is a Special Order color Ralley Red (Hugger Orange).
The Hurst/Olds emblem was on the car when I bought it. I was planning to remove it. The engine color is correct for a 455. 350 Rocket engines were gold in color. Thanks for the kind words!

There's a few things I need to do to bring it to the next level.
It is a real W30. Thanks for the kind words.

I was just throwing the color chart out there for you in case anyone was interested.

Yes the medium blue is correct for a 1970 455. The one in our 1968 98 was red.

Prior to my 5th gen,
I've always had old school muscle primarily 1970 Chevelle Super Sports with a few Camaros thrown into the mix.
Then I decided to change it up and go new school. I thought I was done with the old school muscle, but I was wrong. The passion never faded. After selling my last Chevelle to get my 5th gen, I found myself looking around on the web at OSM until I found this one. It's not a Chevelle but it's unique and cool looking.

That is a beautiful car . Take good care of her .I've been a big fan of 442's since I was a teen. 442's and GTO's. Closest I got was my 71 Cutlass when I was 18.
