KBB says my car with worth X how much am I realistically going to get?
With Gen 6 coming out I am thinking about trading in my 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS.
I went conservative on the grade and just said it was GOOD and checked all my options KBB says it is betweek $26000-$28000. Now knowing I was conservative and my car is pretty much flawless how much would I get if I traded in to a dealer? |

I'm thinking they are going to offer you 22-24k.

I am in the process of selling my 2SS/RS. Dealers are telling me point blank that Blue Book is not what they use. They only use NADA. Check it on there also, see if the numbers are similar. I have a offer from a Chevy dealer though for a straight across trade for a C6 Corvette. Tempting.

At one time I took my 2010 loaded 2LT RS in and KBB and NADA said trade in to a dealer was around $20000 and they offered me $15000. He even brought me out a print out from KBB. I'm pretty sure dealers use a different KBB setting like auction value or something. They are gonna low ball you for sure

This and try to do it before the 6th gen comes out. I knew the 5th gen value was going to tank when the 6th gen comes out so when my cousin made me a sweet offer on my car a couple of months ago I took it knowing I wanted a 6th gen.

Dealers don't use KBB.

I usually get the value from KBB and NADA and find the average between the two. seems to be a safe bet.

You should seek low end of the nada. Figure dealer will sell at the high end, they need to make a buck.

A dealer will also look at auctions like Manheim, to get an idea of what the vehicle will wholesale for. Sometimes they will put more in a trade to make a deal happen! You also get a tax credit.

Dealers don't use KBB or NADA. They use what they call Black Book. It is updated weekly with the average auction prices in their area and what to buy the car for. Typically speaking, this runs about 70% of what KBB and NADA says the car is worth. So if the car is worth $26-$28k then expect an offer between $18-$20k. Another thing, never rate your car as Excellent condition. The highest dealers go is Good condition.

KBB says my 2010 1LT RS in good condition with my low mileage is worth 21K on trade.
I know that's not right lol. Edmunds says 17,900
