Unhappy Really need help selling my car

My Camaro dreams could well be over if I don't sell my current car. The person who was supposed to buy it this month bailed out on me.

The car is a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE with like 13,500 miles on it. Look here for photos and more info :http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24709

I'm asking $12,000 for it. Do you think that is a fair price?

I've put the car on AutoTrader, eBay, Craigslist, and most recently my local newspaper and WantAd Digest. On eBay only a few people are bidding on it and it's in the low thousands. The listing ends tomorrow.

There is still a lien on the title.

Any other car-selling tips? :(

well, i just looked at KBB and the value is listed at $11,540 - $13,340. So you don't exactly have it "priced to sell". At your asking price, it's in waiting game mode.

Well I'm selling it cheaper than others I've seen. And they're selling the GLS, which is the trim below the one I have.

And what do you mean by donating and taking the write off ^^?

Donate the car to a charity. You get a receipt and can write the whole thing off on your taxes. Whatever charity you choose (Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc.) can fill you in. H&R Block or the IRS will have more info as well.

You can take a tax credit for anything you donate, even clothing.

Have you asked your Dealer to take the car in trade, it is a nice looking car and looks like it was well taken care of. I would think the Dealer would have no trouble moving it.

A $10,000 trade is worth an extra $600 cash in your pocket with a 6% sales tax. It would be the same as selling your car for $10,600.

I would wait, your car will not depreciate that much more the next couple of months and then you will ba able to find a Dealer who will offer a much better trade.

Good Luck
