Have y'all noticed? (for long-time members)

That there a LOT of posts on topics we posted and replied to months and even years ago? I believe it's the "new" generation of Camaro owners signing up for the boards, that are just as excited as we were and are posting the same topics we did when we first got our babies, so don't WAIL on 'em too much!!!!

I don't mind necroing as long as it's relevant and worth renewing an old thread Especially if new information is added.

With the new blood comes new answers and perspectives that would not be heard because they wouldn't be looking through old posts to add too.

I have noticed. It seems like a just recently thing too. Sure, we are always getting new members, but yes this is different

This. No one is using the search

This is the nature of a forum. Screaming about searching and so on will do nothing. Ignore and move on is my strategy.

I would say that's an understatement, I would guess about 80% of the new posts is stuff that has already been covered numerous times. I will have to say the search function doesn't appear to be working. I was trying to find how many "name your car" posts there have been and the search comes back with nothing. I bet there have been 50 "what is your Camaro's name". I did a search so I could give the newest name your car poster the links to check out all of the other posts.

If the search function was working I would hope most people would use it before posting. Unless I'm doing something wrong in the search query, I guess that's possible.

No offense, but I think that of most of the 5th gen owners.

I been driving GM muscle since the 90's and the majority of topics covered here on multiple time/daily basis were put to bed years ago.

When the model has been out over two years, it's kinda sad when every other post in the tech section is still "WHAT CAI" and "WHAT EXHAUST".

Search only works when you are in the right subforum to search on. At least that is the way it works when I try it.

I'm on other forums mostly Motorcycle related and this happens there as well and most likely will continue to happen ! Lol... Just part of what goes on in these forums what bothers me is when the guys/ladies who have been around the longest or longer than someone who is just getting started telling them " try the search that's what it's there for " on a thread they started asking a question about something . Maybe they are so new they had no clue they could search their question or maybe they did and it didn't work . That being said hope everyone can try to take it easy on the NOOBS I know it's harder in the winter since a lot of us get cabin fever like myself since I live in NY but we can try .

As a new user, if I post on an old topic it's only because I actually searched out that topic first. I feel it's better to post on an old topic and maybe get a few new reponses than to start a completely new thread and be called out as a noob that can't use the search.

WTF ?? Do you think there's ANY question or comment that hasnt been asked before ? Some new guy asks a legit question and a Mod or member can hardly wait to tell him to go search.
There should be a new subforum "Questions that have never been discussed ? "
